Summer Fun!

Day 2 of our digital skills club and the children are enjoying all sorts of activities including coding, robotics, arts and crafts, and sports.

We will soon be washing our hands ready for a health lunch 🥗

All of this is thanks to funding and support from Department for Education Oldham Council and the Holiday Activities and Food Team.

Tech Tip: Reduce Blue Light with Night Shift! 🌙

Did you know you can easily reduce blue light exposure on your iPhone? The Night Shift feature in iOS allows you to filter out some of the blue light emitted by your iPhone display, making it easier on your eyes, especially at night.

Here's how to activate Night Shift:

Celebrating Success 🎉

The atmosphere was filled with energy, excitement, and elation as we celebrated the culmination of our year-long project with E-ACT Royton & Crompton School. Thanks to the generous funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, we were able to offer a digital arts-based learning experience to 12 young girls.

Over the past year, these students honed their skills in three core areas: 🎥 video storytelling, ✍️ creative writing, and 📸 photography. They had the opportunity to learn from industry experts through hands-on sessions and enjoyed an immersive tour and workshop at The Sharp Project.

Innovative ways we engage young people in our alternative provision.

Sometimes, our young people are setting up a lighting studio for a photoshoot. Other times, they’re creating graphics to use on a product such as a mug/ t-shirt. We’ve even had games created on their computers then enjoyed with an egg box for a controller.

A big thank you to SharpFutures , a social enterprise dedicated to helping young people transition into the creative digital sector. Through apprenticeships, work experience, and volunteering, SharpFutures nurtures talent and supports the needs of creative digital businesses. 🚀
