MEC are delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with Ogilvie Construction on Haymarket Yards, Edinburgh on the construction of their new 156 bed purpose-built student accommodation arranged over a ground floor and seven upper storeys.
We are now in week 7 of the build, with substructure works now complete and ground floor brickwork not far behind

Update from our XQ7 Site in Salford.
Our site team have been installing the K-Roc insulation, brick tie channel, non-combustible DPC & Tenmat fire stop prior to re building the external facade.
This is a remediation project that we are working in partnership with Quality Fast Facades.

17-months in and works are coming to a close over on our site at West Craigs, Edinburgh in partnership with Cruden Building.
Works comprised 3 blocks of flats and 25 houses, just one plot making up part of the largest mixed-tenure regeneration projects currently underway in Scotland.
Great effort from both respective Companies in delivering this project on time and cost.

Aberdeen City Council awarded CHAP the contracts to construct 369 residential homes in the City of Aberdeen. Marshall Errock Construction Ltd, were appointed by CHAP GROUP in 2020 for what was a 3-year Masonry Brick and Blockwork Project.

The Project:
• The project involves the construction of flats and all associated infrastructure including roads, parking areas, drainage, services and amenity spaces for Aberdeen City Council.
• This includes a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom flats with all 369 flats being for social rent tenure by the Council.
• The flats are contained within eight blocks with a maximum height of four storeys.
• The proposed development has two parallel streets on an east west axis both providing for two-way vehicular movements.
• The streets will have parking perpendicular to the road.
• Signage and traffic calming measures will be used to slow traffic and create an environment welcoming to pedestrians.
• A key feature of the development is a central core of open space overlooked by the flats.
• The project also includes works outwith the site boundary to the adjoining roads including Lang Stracht.
• The 1, 2 and 3-bedroom flats are located on the site of the former Summerhill Academy on Gairsay Road in the city. CHAP has been contracted to construct the flats and all associated infrastructure including roads, parking areas, drainage, services and amenity spaces.
• Aberdeen City Council housing spokesperson Councillor Sandra Macdonald said: “It is fantastic that work is taking place on the Summerhill site again and I’m sure local residents and particularly children will be excited to see the big crane working at the site as the building work progresses in the coming months.
• “The building site at Summerhill will help new residents and the wider area as the construction contract has a comprehensive programme of community benefits, including apprenticeships and early learning activities.
Access to quality housing greatly improves the quality of life for residents by creating new communities and opening up new social and economic horizons.”

Comprised of 3 student residential towers, each containing 319 apartments also features communal areas freely available for all residents in addition to a coffee bar, separate study rooms and private bookable lounges.
The project’s city centre location presented logistic challenges but working closely together with Morgan Sindall, we were able to overcome the hurdles and maintain high standards of quality + safety throughout.

Our Story
Boasting over 30 years experience in the construction business, Marshall Errock Construction has a vast history.
Marshall Errock Construction was initially formed in 1983 and run as a partnership between Paul Errock and Gary Marshall until 1990.
In August 1990 Gary Marshall left the company and after several years of continuous growth Marshall Errock Construction became a Limited company.
During the period 1990 to 1998, Marshall Errock Construction Ltd enjoyed continual growth, culminating in a £6M turnover and such notable regular clients as;
Balfour Beatty, HBG, Bowmer and Kirkland , Carillion, Clugston, Costain, David Mc Lean, Gleeson, Jarvis, Laing, Mansell, Miller, Mowlem, Sisk, Taylor Woodrow , Wilmott Dixon.
Paul Errock
For the period of 1998 - 2004, Mr Paul Errock had bouts of very serious illnesses. During this period the status and fortunes of the company suffered. Mr Errock returned to the helm of Marshall Errock Construction Ltd In October 2004 and with the assistance of Mr Nigel Swann, the company once again re-kindled excellent relationships with previous partnerships of pre -1998 era, and has since sought and succeeded in achieving approved status with amongst others (many of which MEC have now carried repeat projects for):
Laing O' Rourke, Skanska, Clugston, Vinci, ISG, Interserve, Sir Robert Mc Alpine, Bowmer and Kirkland, BAM and GB Building.
From the outset the company’s main objective was to build long term relationships with clients and their teams. This has resulted in much of Marshall Errock Construction's work coming from repeat business.
We are a forward thinking company and have invested heavily in youth training. Within our workforce we are currently providing training and support for our future managerial staff at all levels including extensive investment in Apprentices, Management, Quantity Surveying, Buying and Estimating. This is to introduce a new generation into MEC to provide continuation for the company.
