That’s right tonight the night for our first Tapas night at the George and Dragon. The sun is out which means it pretty much perfect weather for some Spanish cuisine.

We still have a couple of tables left for tonight some and enjoy some international flavours with us

LA VIVA ESPANA 🇪🇸

That’s right the George and Dragon is going Spanish on the last Saturday of the month with our brand new Tapas Menu.

Our new menu has been carefully crafted by our chef to help bring the Spanish cuisine to Downe village.

Our tapas night will start at 5 unfortunately our normal menu won’t be running but come on down to enjoy some of Spain’s favourite dishes.

Summer ready ☀️

The George and dragon is all ready for the summer, serving both food and drink in our Garden.

We also have our new addition this year with a climbing frame and slides added to keep the little ones entertained. 🛝

We have also brought back the basket meals for the garden serving items such as scampi, squid flaming chicken and others.

GEORGE AND DRAGON NOT CLOSING !
Hi all
There are rumours going around that the George and Dragon is going to close.
I would like to take this opportunity to confirm that we will not be closing any time soon.
We do not know where the rumours are coming from but it is on the internet so it must be false.
Like most other businesses in our sector, we are finding staff recruitment very difficult. The poor public transport in the village does not help. This has and will continue to cause early closures and even whole days closed - for this I apologise. As many of you will know I have been unwell for several months and am the cause of these closures.
UK inflation - we are all seeing large increases in the cost of day to day living requirements. We have turned back time at the George and Dragon and have reinvented garden basket meals. These will help customers still retain the fun experience of going out to eat and drink without the big costs. We will still be serving our great homemade pies (try the game pie you wont regret it) and for the summer look out for our great meals fresh from the griddle, Grilled meats and fish with fresh salads.
And eat with us on Sundays from our all you can eat buffet. Four choices of roast meat every Sunday, plus pies and other great meals.
Finally, do not forget our vegan/vegetarian menu all homemade and delicious
