The ASSEMBLE movement also calls to support Zeus Chen, an independent MBA candidate, Oscar Brisset and Santiago Bedoya (both from the Another way slate), and Molly Mantle (from the One slate), for Secretary committee.

We are happy to announce that Joseph (also known as 𝗝𝗼 𝗥𝗰𝘆𝗺 on Facebook), is joining the ASSEMBLE movement and will be a 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 on our side on Friday’s Union elections.
Talking to us, Joseph says : ‘I am surprised to see that I am the only candidate who is raising the 𝒄𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 issue during this Oxford Union election campaign. I think that the Union is a place where all things can become possible, and that can influence other people. I want to address climate change by organizing climate change speaker events and by having the Oxford Union act in a more eco-friendly way’. He adds : ‘I’m not really running against friends. Not really. Someone once said “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies. But a great deal more to 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐩 to your friends". I think that’s what politics is about, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 your ideals’.

The ASSEMBLE movement is proud to announce it will support Beatrice Barr for President and Julia Willemyns for Librarian for the Oxford Union elections on Friday, (both from the One slate)

Our purpose for the Union focuses on two points :
- address climate change : the Union is a place that can influence directly other people's behaviour, and so the Union must take a leadership here (by inviting speakers, being eco-friendly, innovate, etc)
-more transparency from officers and from the governing body.
This will create a better understanding, and will enable us to shape different policies for the Union together.
On the whole, this will lead to more diversity for this institution in the future.
