Next month we are starting a NEW Mindful Makers meet up. Come and join us to get lost in the process, share experiences, feel inspired, explore something new and get that project done! Any projects and craft welcome just bring your own tools and materials….purchases can be made from the bead shop if needed!

We should all prioritise some time out time, some ‘us’ time, some time for simply being present.

Today and for the next week(ish) Teddy and I will be having some recovery time after I had to have a little surgery yesterday. The Drs and Nurses The John Radcliffe were amazing. We are so lucky to have them!

I will be doing some work from home but that will mainly involve watching videos, building a massive order, trying not to buy a microscope and squeezing in some true crime stuff!

As you can see Teddy is doing the whole relax and do nothing thing WAY better than me!

A really lovely day spent in the workshop yesterday teaching our Silver Mixed Ability workshop. So many beautiful projects made!

What would you make??

This bangle design has been a very popular project in the workshop recently. Each time somebody makes it, it looks totally different from the one that originally inspired them! A great project for exploring different shapes and sizes of wire…not so good if you want to practice your soldering as there is not one solder join in it!

If you are wanting to make your own piece of jewellery we have our popular Silver Mixed Ability workshop that runs a couple of times every month. You decide on your project, with some help from me, and then you come along and make it!

Look what I’ve been up to the past three days….it was AMAZING! Can’t wait to continue in my own studio! Thank you to Nicole Ringgold Jewelry Designs and Beccy Gillatt - School of Jewellery and all my other lovely fellow tutors!

Yes….you are seeing correctly! Your eyes are not playing tricks on you!! Yesterday’s afternoon workshop was to celebrate Susannah’s Hen Party! We had 9 hens visit for three hours making stacking rings. Again, everyone worked hard and by the end of the session 27 rings had been made! I had lots of lovely feedback from the group telling me how much they enjoyed the session. Words such as ‘mindful, relaxing, fun, really good, please with what I made, impressed’ were being used in conversation. Thanks for choosing us to start the celebrations for you!

We had a brilliantly creative fun day in the workshop yesterday! Two workshops making rings. The morning session was our popular Stone Set Rings class with 8 people all making a ring using some very handy pre-made settings and low profile cabochon stones. It’s a very busy class! Everyone committed to learning and working hard and within the three hours they had all made their very own ring.

Our next workshop is on Saturday 28th September if you would like a go making your own!

FloFest & GloFest 2024. June 22nd was so much fun! If you missed it make sure you don’t next year!

Along side all the live music on the V-Stage and the Main Stage There is so much to see this year!

We have the Oxford Playhouse bringing their summer touring theatre show for kids, the Museum of Modern Art Oxford and Museum of Oxford are bringing an incredible war time Cinema bus and a specially made film to celebrate the 90th birthday of Florence Park.
Sheila Tree and the Florence Park Community Centre are bringing a history exhibition.
Don't miss the The Windrush Group and Fusion Arts stand who are coming along with Pitt Rivers Museum artefact handling and Oxford Brookes Foundation Art students with fascinating information, history and crafts.
Help Oxford Wood Recycling make a huge bug hotel! Pegasus Theatre are coming with dressing up clothes and workshops for the kids to join in with.

This week we are starting our last five week course for the current academic year 2022-2023. We have a fabulous selection of stones available to inspire new projects, new tools we will be exploring, mini project demo’s planned and will be finishing off the year with a visit to and lunch . It’s going to be a busy run to the summer holidays!

A lovely day yesterday teaching our Silver Mixed Ability Workshop. We had chain making, recycling, stone setting, textured cuff bracelets, earrings, a spinner ring and lots of hammering! A great day had by all!
