Creating artworks inspired by nature using exciting mark making. Based in Oxfordshire, UK. Original artwork in Oil, Acrylic and Watercolour.
Paper craft pictures, Wall art and Cards.
Love this colour combo. Think I’ll use more of the olive green my seascapes.
Taking many many photos of my mini mounted prints for my website shop. Adjusting each one, cropping, creating in-situ images. So time consuming but hopefully worth it in the long run!
Pleased to have sold these original paintings recently. Especially loved creating the seascape using tiny seashells in the foreground. I hadn’t used many physical objects before (only ferns and leaves) but it has inspired me to think of other things to stick on. Any ideas?!
New work ready for the tomorrow.
Experimental quick pieces. Work in progress…or I might leave them as is. What do you think? I’m liking the spontaneous feel.
Sat wondering when my teenagers are going to eventually wake up!
A bit different, using actual seashells in the painting. I’ll Resin this to finish it off and to make sure the shells are all totally secure even though they’re fixed with pva already.
Always gathering inspiration from my daily walks. It’s haybale season now. Here is my version using acrylic paint with artistic license for colours, composition plus enhanced cast shadows for better tonal range. Sold.
Some original painting sales from Oxford Westgate. Thank you 🙏 Lovely chatting to customers about my work explaining my processes and inspiration. Here until 5pm today (Sun 23rd).
Packing up ready for this weekends Artisan Fair at Westgate Centre Oxford. Lots of Oxford prints available in various sizes as well as original paintings, prints and cards. I’ll be there Saturday and Sunday. Pop and say hi!
New work in preparation for Oxford Westgate Artisan Fair this weekend. I enjoyed painting this spontaneous watercolour using subtle colours. Finished off with palette knife acrylic waves for added texture and foreground interest.
A little watercolour study
Great evening teaching seascapes in acrylics to a lovely bunch of ladies. Three more sessions this week. Love spreading the creativity, enthusiasm and techniques to others.
This little landscape titled Raspberry Glow is off to a new home. Thank you ☺️ . I used oil paint to blend the sky with splattering on top to give a loose feel to the clouds. For the ground I used a palette knife to suggest fields and bushes, repeating the colours above to link all the elements together.
Pleased to have sold these original paintings yesterday and it was lovely chatting to customers about my paintings. People liking the monochrome palette. Thanks so much for visiting.
New mini paintings completed this week ready for my Artweeks number 3 exhibition! Tomorrow (Sat 18th May) I shall be at the beautiful period property of St Ethelwold’s House in Abingdon with its stunning gardens. Well worth a visit. 10:30-5.
Painting bluebells at my Wednesday art group yesterday and explaining to them how the tones of the flowers are very near to the tones of their leaves. You can see the tones (lights and darks) more clearly in the second picture, a black and white version. The flowers disappear! That’s why it’s important to get other strong tonal value areas within a bluebell wood painting so the scene is lifted. Therefore, in this example, a pale background of sky and foliage against dark trunks adds to the tonal range to create a more successful painting.
Sold this lovely little seascape painting today so busy packing it off to a new home. I really like the simplicity of the composition so the focus is solely on the waves.
Great final day of Oxfordshire Artweeks in Charlbury. Here are my original painting sales from today including two ‘biggies’. Thank you so much 😊 🙏.
So, Artweeks is done and dusted for another year, but fear not!… I still have a one-day exhibition on Saturday 18th at Abingdon St Ethelwold’s House, plus a display of paintings at Payne & Son High Street, Oxford until 27th May.
Sold these original paintings over the last few days. Last day of Oxfordshire Artweeks tomorrow for the North/West Oxfordshire area. I’ll be at St Mary’s Church in Charlbury until 4pm. Oxford city next week then South the week after so lots more to see.
Creating little original paintings for cards while at Artweeks exhibition. My favourite is the middle one with the orange sky. What’s your favourite?
Oxfordshire Artweeks exhibition is on until Sunday at 4pm. St Mary’s Church in Charlbury OX7 3PX.
Painting sales from today. Thank you 🙏 and lovely to chat to people about my work. Artweeks at Charlbury on until Sunday at 4pm, St Mary’s Church OX7 3PX.
Recent original painting sales over the last few days. The last two are 3D artworks with two layers to add depth. The 3D pieces are so enjoyable to create as I can adapt the layers to get the best composition even more than just on one flat surface.
Pleased to have sold these originals at Artweeks so far. So lovely chatting to people about my work, explaining my processes and passing on my enthusiasm. Thank you for all the lovely comments, it means a lot 🙏. Exhibition on until Sunday. See past posts for more details.
Pleased to have some work at Payne & Son Jewellers in High Street, Oxford for Artweeks. Here is the display in their beautiful antique cabinets. Already sold these two.
One of my paintings that will be on show at Payne & Son Jewellers, High Street, Oxford as part of Oxfordshire Artweeks event. 4th-18th May daily (except Sun). This seascape evolved from my imagination with a bit of mucking about with oil and acrylic paint and a painting spatula.
Prints and originals sold from yesterday. People definitely feeling the bluebell vibe. Thank you for your purchases. 🙏
All set up in Abingdon Market Place for the Local Excellence event today with some new prints as well as originals and art cards. Feels like winter again so hoping for the sun to peep through 🤞
Not long to go! We’re first this year so starts 4th May in North and West Oxfordshire. Can I admit that I’m still painting! Is anyone else?! Oils done of course but I can still use my water-based media so it’ll dry in time 😂🙈
Liking this colour palette. Using left over oil paint to use up what was on my palette. I love doing this as I’m forced in to putting colours together that I probably wouldn’t use and sometimes get surprised…or it ends up like mud!
This little original will be on show at my Oxfordshire Artweeks exhibition 4th-12th May. See my last post for more details.
