I have decided not to set up a Christmas Market anywhere else and I am therefore now selling all my 61 Christmas Market stalls and equipment (decorations, tables, etc.).

I will be stepping away from social media for the time being. I had a few messages asking for Christmas Market recommendations, which I was more than happy to respond to. If someone wants to get in touch then please do so via www.oxfordchristmasmarket.co.uk.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that the Oxford Christmas Market had to be cancelled indefinitely.

The decision was not one I wanted to make, but circumstances left me with no choice.

The cancellation was triggered by changes made to Broad Street by Oxfordshire County Council, with the backing of Oxford City Council. They have insisted on maintaining the cycle lane, which had previously been permitted to be closed without any incidents since 2013.

The new layout and the associated conditions make it impossible for me to continue. Ensuring the safety of all is my top priority, and proceeding under such circumstances would be irresponsible, as it could potentially lead to accidents.

It has been an absolute joy and honour to create the Oxford Christmas Market and to establish a Christmas tradition in Oxford that has been cherished by many.

Update: The issue in Broad Street has finally been resolved with Oxfordshire County Council. We got the green light from them. Now still waiting for permission from Oxford City Council. The Councils like to keep me on my toes. 😁

Apologies for silence. Hibernation has long been over. Planning started in January. Traders with wonderful products have been booked. But we’re still awaiting permission to hold the event. Oxfordshire County Council is working on plans to change Broad Street. We are still waiting to hear what effect this will have for Oxford Christmas Market - how the layout will be effected and if the Christmas Market can even go ahead.
