Our studio kitted out with some new furniture! We've had quite a few bookings recently and look to be busy during the next few weeks. Dry hire (without technical support) is free to academics and students here at Oxford University. With technical support our prices start at £210 for a 2 hour session booking - perfect for interviews, panel discussions, demonstrations and livestreaming for academics joining conferences virtually and don't want to rely on the office/home WiFi. Congratulations to Vice-Chancellor Professor Louise Richardson who received her Damehood for services to Higher Education at Windsor Castle yesterday. 👏
Filming a presentation on the The ARCHiOx Project (Analysing and Recording Cultural Heritage in Oxford), funded by The Helen Hamlyn Trust. Using technology conceived and developed at Factum Arte, the ARCHiOx Project uses both a prototype photographic system (Selene Stereo Photometric Scanner, developed by Jorge Cano) and 3D scanning (Lucida 3D Scanner, developed by artist-engineer Manuel Franquelo and the team at Factum) to bring to life relief surfaces of some of the Bodleian’s most celebrated artefacts. This relatively unexplored path to mapping and digitisation should in turn present fascinating new avenues of exploration and research, as it reveals aspects of the item hitherto unrealised or recorded. Amazing images shown this morning.
Shooting in the lab today - makes a nice change from lectures and degree ceremonies!
