We were lucky enough last Thursday to have Silvia Herrera from come to give a talk celebrating 30 years of Fair Trade. Silvia spoke about challenges in the coffee industry and the importance of empowering everyone in the production process. Her message that whatever the customer doesn't pay for, someone else pays for really hit home. Thank you Silvia and Café Direct for such an interesting talk!

Trish has volunteered at Oxfam for 4 years. She works in the fashion department and loves rearranging the women's section to make it look beautiful. She also likes the perks of sorting donations - volunteers get first dibs! She found a lovely beach dress for her holiday to Ibiza this week ☀️☀️

Leslie is one of our most dedicated volunteers. He is invaluable in the toy department, coming in most days to sort and price as well as doing stints in books. Leslie says he keeps coming back to the superstore because of the working atmosphere - 'it's just natural'

Penny, Henry and Giles volunteer in the fashion team! Henry and Giles are expert steamers and Penny's a super sorter. They love the fact that by helping at Oxfam they're preventing waste in the fashion industry and promoting second-hand shopping and sustainability ♻️💚

Beginning our week of volunteer profiles with Lin! 'Having fun with a team of like-minded people' is how Lin would describe her experience volunteering at Oxfam. Lin has been volunteering in haberdashery and serving customers on the till since the pandemic. She is a ray of sunshine and it's a joy having her as part of the team
