It's our monthly Live Lounge this and our music man Lee has pulled out some massive stops for August!
Big Lee says:
"Up first is Bonnie Habit.
Bonnie will be performing a set of bluesy old time folk songs from yesteryear, a true superstar that like all of tonight’s acts need to be seen to be believed. Vocal goals right here.
Next up is the awesome talents of Lewis Spring,
Lewis has many strings to his bow, with an off the charts vocal range and beautiful finger style guitar.
His heart undoubtedly lies in folk (will we see the Hurdy Gurdy???) but don’t be surprised to hear him possibly belting out a tasty Killers cover. An Oxford star for sure.
Closing this epic night in the making is the incredible Rob Clamp.
I met Rob at The Green Note in Camden and was instantly a huge fan of his music, a mesmerising performer and I’m so happy he is coming up from Southampton to perform for us.
Having supported the likes of Frank Turner and James Walsh (Starsailor) Rob’s music is filled with real life experiences performed in his own compelling style with acoustic guitar accompanied by a variation of foot percussion. Do not miss."
We can't wait to dial this lot in so pop on down this Friday from 8.30pm and let's have a rager.
COWLEY ROAD CARNIVAL IS BACK!! Once the biggest UK Carnival outside of Notting Hill, CRC has been sincerely lacking from Oxfordshire's calendar since 2019, and we are so happy to have it back!
Carnival consists of processions, music and street vendors all up and down Cowley Road, and we'll be closing off James Street to bring you our own magic touch of music, food, bevs, and GOOD VIBES.
Once the roads open up in the evening we'll move the party inside to continue with those delicious Carnival Vibes.

SKETCH COMEDY TONIGHT FROM 7pm
The Mayor and His Daughter like comedy very much. We bring you an hour of ‘material’: skitches, skets and party pieces gathered from our authentic experiences in the heart of England.
Come with stout heart, pilgrim, and receive much in return. This is all very exciting and we do not wish to upset anyone.
To be totally clear, this is a comedy sketch show.
The rumour of the wind is that we were once ‘finalists’ of the Leicester Square Sketch-Off and Laughing Horse NATYS, while certain vestal spectres have described us as follows:
‘A truly distinctive comedy aesthetic’ — Steve Bennett
‘Disconcerting curveball’ — Bruce Dessau
‘This is going to be the best one yet’– The Sun (tarot card)
Stay blessed xx
