Drinkable Rivers - book launch, talk and short film screening
This Saturday, 5:30pm we launch the first in a series of special talk nights, to mark our 20th Anniversary.
Ecological sustainability is at the heart of what we do, so it was only natural we kick off this series with a very special talk indeed.
Please join us in welcoming Li An Phoa founder of Drinkable Rivers, and her partner Maarten van de Schaaff to the Vaults for a truly inspiring talk and short film screening.
Yes! Last Sunday 17 September Li An and partner Maarten gathered at the Thames Head to begin a month-long walk along the entire length of the Thames. They carry with them the Charter for Rivers created by the UK campaign River Action, and are actively building networks all along the Thames, as they have done through 3 countries down the River Meuse, and down 2 rivers in Germany. Their world wide mission “Drinkable Rivers” is to ‘make our rivers drinkable again’.
They will also be joined by legendary Waterwizard and Reedbed weaver Julian Jones from the shire.
