We are happy to announce that three speakers at our 2024 Fix Auto UK National Conference are now confirmed!

Fresh from his exploits in the jungle on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Fred Sirieix will be joining us to educate on franchising.

Hugely successful ex Sainsbury’s CEO Justin King will also be there, speaking on leadership through change and responsible business.

Finally, automotive and corporate finance expert Rex Green joins the already packed roster to provide a more personal insight into the car repair landscape.

However, the excitement doesn’t end there, and our Thursday evening guest is still left to be announced…

Now owner Dale Morris’ second repair centre, the site is open for business and repairing vehicles two weeks ahead of schedule.

Boasting bespoke oversized spraybooths designed by Dale to specifically accommodate vans, LCVs and even large motorhomes, he has also installed a new IT and security system along with a raft of brand-new equipment.

Dale paid tribute to his team for “going above and beyond the call of duty” to transform the 15,000 sq ft unit into a state-of-the-art repair centre in such a short time.

Fix Auto Mid Devon & Newton Abbott’s own Alena Woolacott is an Inspiring Automotive Woman 2024 Award Winner!

She brings it home after initially being shortlisted in November for the LinkedIn campaign that saw nominees entered nationwide.

The company behind it, Automotive 30% Club, stated Alena was a “deserving winner of an Inspiring Automotive Women Award because she has created a workplace culture that is inclusive, supportive and provides equal opportunities for women.”

Initially Select Accident Repair Centre, the South Wales site will now operate as Fix Auto Neath.

Founded by Kevin Joseph and Kevin Davies, the duo relocated to a new 6,000sq ft site in preparation for the appointment, in what they believe to be their “next chapter”.

Furthermore, joining the network as a full-branded business is the culmination of a two-year business plan since they first became involved with the network as a second-tier support centre!

Kevin commented: “We have known of Fix Auto UK for an awful long time. Like so many repairers who have joined, we are ambitious, but we also recognise we need support to reach our full potential.”

Second year apprentice Adrian Matthews has become the network’s first winner of the UK WorldSkills Automotive Body Repair title.

Son of Fix Auto Gloucester owner Aron Matthews, Adrian saw off fierce competition in a week-long finals event in Manchester to bring the medal home!

The 6 final challenges included welding a plastic bumper, repairing a dented door using a ‘miracle’ pull and filler, and fitting a rear quarter panel among others.

Speaking of his win, Adrian showed great humility in saying ‘I just gave it my best shot, when they called my name out I was totally surprised”

Fix Auto UK has further bolstered its position inside the M25 corridor with the appointment of K&R Coachworks.

Owned by Rash Panesar, the Hertfordshire business will now operate as Fix Auto St Albans!

The bodyshop stands at 6,000 sq ft with 12 work bays, two spraybooths and a repair capacity of 100 vehicles a month, which Rash wants to increase to 130.

Rash commented on the news: “I went to Fix Auto UK’s National Conference in May and was completely bowled over by the whole experience. It really was incredible to see so many repairers rubbing shoulders and I just knew I needed to be part of it.”

Owner Dale Morris has started developing what will be the network’s first centre solely dedicated to repairing vans and LCVs!

The new 15,000 sq ft repair centre will complement the hugely respected Fix Auto Basingstoke repair centre, impressively primed to begin repairing vehicles by mid-January.

Dale commented: “Choosing the right building to suit our needs has been critical to our plans. This site gives us that and more and I couldn’t be happier!”

Initiating a Toy Drive to help those less fortunate, the team dropped off their presents to the Salvation Army Donation Centre in Hinckley last week!

Families in the region were allowed to choose what gifts they wanted, also supplied with wrapping paper and Sellotape to make sure nobody misses out on that magical Christmas morning🎄

Now the 4th site owned by Stephen and Sam Smith, vehicles are already rolling out of the new centre after plans were announced only 3 months ago!

The 10,000sq ft facility will be managed by James Bentley, boasting two large commercial spraybooths, 10 work bays and a repair capacity of up to 30 vehicles a week.

Fix Auto UK’s Managing Director Ian Pugh commented: “Once again Sam and Stephen have delivered on their promise, and yet again we have another centre in the network that is a credit to their commitment and drive.”

As part of a Driving Net Zero programme, all 9 of Fix Auto UK’s wholly owned repair centres have successfully gained their PAS2060 accreditations.

Among these now fully carbon neutral sites are Fix Auto Barnsley, Fix Auto Colwyn Bay, Fix Auto Crawley, Fix Auto Castleford, Fix Auto Daventry, Fix Auto Henley-on-Thames, Fix Auto Liverpool South, Fix Auto Newport and Fix Auto Paignton.

Mark Hutchins, Operations Director for Fix Auto UK, said: “Operating a carbon neutral repair centre must be a goal of every repairer in the country. Thankfully, our close working relationship with Purchase Direct has ensured a relatively seamless process to achieve our goal.”

Owned by 32-year-old entrepreneur Hassan Khan, the appointment seeks to build on an 8-year reputation garnered through his initial repair business RDB UK.

After learning a more suitable building had become vacant in the town, Hassan quickly relocated, investing significantly in lighting and a bespoke-designed spray booth.

Speaking of the appointment, Hassan commented: “Since setting up the business in 2015 I’ve grown and developed it at a steady pace. Joining Fix Auto UK and becoming part of a larger organisation has to be that next step and I feel fortunate to be in a position to join.”

🚗It is Tyre Safety Month 🚗

We wanted to share our top 3 tips to help keep you safe on the roads!

1️⃣ Air Pressure - Use an accurate Tyre Pressure Gauge to check that your Tyres Air Pressure is at the recommended settings. Settings can be found either in your vehicle owner's handbook or on the inside of your Fuel Filler Cap.

2️⃣ Condition- Lumps or Bulges in a tyre may indicate internal damage & increase the risk of a catastrophic failure.
If these or cuts & cracks are found while checking a tyre, the tyre may need replacing & professional advise should be sought.

3️⃣ Tread depth - Tread depth should be checked with an accurate gauge to ensure they are above the minimum legal limit of 1.6mm. If you don't have an accurate tread depth gauge, a 20p coin can be used as a guide to how close your tread is to the limit.
