Pershore Yoga Nidra is going into the deep silent space of retreat, self-isolating until the coast is clear. So, unfortunately, all classes are cancelled for the time being. But we will rise again, causes, circumstances and conditions permitting, and resume glorious guided relaxation as soon as possible.

Yoga Nidra guided deep relaxation will resume in 2020 on Monday 27th January; 7-8pm at Pershore Library. £9 prepaid and prebooked; £10 on the door. Then every month on the last Monday evening on the month, unless it's a bank holiday, in which case it will be the Monday before.
The last Yoga Nidra session for 2019 at Pershore Library will be on Monday December 16th. Enjoy deep relaxation before Christmas.

In the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, from the Satiphatthana Sutta, the Buddha offers four postures for practicing meditation, including lying down, as we practise in Yoga Nidra:
A person knows, when she is walking,
I am walking;
She knows, when she is standing,
I am standing;
She knows, when she is sitting,
I am sitting;
She knows, when she is lying down,
I am lying down;
or just as her body is disposed
so she knows it.
Since the publication Swami Satyananda‘s trailblazing book “Yoga Nidra” in 1976 (without which we wouldn’t have Yoga Nidra in the form we do) there have been very few other worthwhile ones. Now that has changed with Pierre Bonnasse’s “Yoga Nidra Meditation: The Sleep of the Sages”, which has just appeared in English. It describes Yoga Nidra as “a conscious exploration of wakefulness, dreaming, and deep sleep” and has a deep and illuminating exploration of the philosophy of Yoga Nidra, which is likely to help any practitioner understand why they practise yoga. Highly recommended.
Students often report better sleep after Yoga practice and especially after Yoga Nidra. There is a dedicated Yoga Nidra class every Monday night at Pershore library 19:00 - 20:00. £8 on the night.
