Hundreds of visitors are expected to descend on Nassington the weekend of 29/30 June 2024 to wander through this lovely Northamptonshire village and take a look into the gardens open to visitors. We expect 15-20 gardens to be open each day.

Visitors will be able to draw ideas from a wide spectrum of gardens – from courtyard to new build, from modern through to Prebendal Manor. The Manor’s garden is understood to be Europe’s largest recreated medieval garden, although in the last few years, the gardens have been adapted beyond the medieval structures and planting to provide a longer flowering season with many sweet-smelling and repeat-flowering David Austin roses.

Tea, cakes and refreshments at the church will keep everyone going, and over the weekend will also feature some craft stalls, so it promises to be something for all the family. The Village Hall will be open for access to the toilets and will be selling ice creams and soft drinks.

Entry is £5 per person per day, accompanied children under 16 free. The gardens will be open from 1-5pm each day, and free car parking has been arranged. Proceeds go to support St Mary’s Church, Nassington, also expected to attract visitors over the weekend.

Gardeners in the village are working hard on their gardens, and the village will soon be laying out the chairs, putting up its parasols and throwing open its gardens. Organiser, Hilary Hardie said, “We last opened in 2022 when we had an amazing number of visitors over a lovely weekend. There will be a garden guide and visitors are bound to go home with ideas for their own garden.”

The event is part of the National Open Gardens initiative.

Community pharmacies can offer treatment for seven common conditions without patients needing to see a GP, as part of a major transformation in the way the NHS delivers care.

Highly trained pharmacists at more than nine in ten pharmacies can now assess and treat patients for earache, impetigo, infected insect bites, shingles, sinusitis, sore throat, and urinary tract infections (UTIs) for women aged 16-64 -without the need for a GP appointment.

Available on the high street, community pharmacy teams have the right clinical training to give people the health advice they need, with no appointment necessary and private consultations available.

Don't wait for minor health concerns to get worse – think pharmacy first and get seen by your local pharmacy team
