We're delighted to announce that Stanground Carpets & Flooring have made it through to the final of the Contract Flooring Journal awards, for the work that we did with the renovation of the prestigious Haycock Hotel in Wansford.

Independent judging is in the final stages to determine the category winners.

The winners will be announced at the CFJ Awards Gala event at The Dallas Burston Polo Club (The IXL Events Centre) in Warwickshire on Friday 6th September 2024.

Beckie Watkins took part in the 'Big 30's' Pool Tournament in Milton Keynes at the weekend, and we're delighted that she won beating a Harriet Haynes 6.2 in the final, a nice warm up for this weekend where Beckie is competing in 'Event 2' of Ultimate Pool tournament in Blackpool.

We thought we'd give you an update on Beckie Watkins who is a local talented Pool player that we began to sponsoring in December last year.

So far this year Beckie has had two tournaments resulting in getting to the semi finals of the mixed doubles world championships last month, and finishing in the last 16 of The Ultimate Pool event 1 in January.

Next weekend Beckie takes part in The Ultimate Pool Event 2 in Blackpool and the first event of The International Pool Association Tour is in Newcastle at the end of the month, her aim this year is to win a tour and get into the winners circle.

We’re delighted to announce our support and sponsorship of Beckie Watkins who is a local talented Pool player.

Beckie has been playing Pool since she was 12 and taken part in trials for England since that age and finally achieving her place on the England team at the age of 18, through hard work and determination has retained her place for 8 years, she is currently ranked 7th in the UK.

Beckies goal is to win a major tournament, having achieved runner up on multiple occasions, she’s now working even harder to achieve her first Individual win.

Beckie practices around 5 times a week, 2 - 3 hours at a time, sometimes longer.

This sponsorship will allow her to concentrate on the tournaments ahead fully, which working full time, and shifts in the emergency services can be difficult as she juggles her training around work, so you’ll usually find her practicing in the mornings before she starts with her partner of eight years, who is also a competition player, John Roe or her brother all help to improve her game.

First and foremost, this sponsorships aim is to help a very talented player achieve their full potential, regardless of gender in an underfunded sport, and we look forward to seeing her progress and achieve her goals.
