Last week we explored inclusion and diversity and what it means to be a British Citizen. The children learnt about British Values and thought about what it means to be a child living in Britain today. Some of our children thought about diversity in our school community and created a short video.

Daley class were so excited to receive a personal message from Tom Daley! We learnt about who Tom Daley is and drew pictures of him diving. We also had a go at diving ourselves, minus the water! Tom sent us a special framed signed poster too for us to display. Thank you Tom.

Last Friday, to mark the Coronation of King Charles III, each class sang the National Anthem. Mrs Hawker very cleverly put it together in one video. We hope you enjoy!

Earlier in the term, Year 5 participated in Bikeability. What an amazing week! Some of our Year 5 riders learnt how to safely ride their bikes out on the roads AND every single child in Y5 learnt how to ride their bike! The children listened beautifully to the amazing coaches, persevered when things got tough and did our school proud! Well done Year 5, we are super proud of you!!

One of our children in Mombasa Class has been sharing her RWI learning with her family. It is lovely to see our children sharing their learning at home. Well done!

In music, Kiely class have been using their voices to sing songs about the sea! They learnt the song: The big ship sails on the ally-ally-oh, in this song some verses change tempo. They learnt that when the tempo is fast the song sounds happy and exciting but when the tempo is slow the song sounds sad. Finally, they added actions to help them remember the words.

Our amazing singing club 😁

As part of anti bullying week Matisse class took part in a dance workshop. They used their collaboration STEM skill to work together and their creative STEM skill to explore different ways of moving to music. They thought about how they could use different movements to express kindness and friendship. They then performed their dance as a class.

Matisse class used their collaboration STEM skill to learn a poem to celebrate world poetry day. They worked together to perform the poem alligator problem by Michael Rose as a class. Well done Matisse class 😁

As part of STEM week Matisse class took part in a live lesson with a coral reef diver. They learnt about creatures that live on the reef. They also learnt how to β€œtalk” underwater. After the live lesson the children chose a coral reef creature to draw.
