The new labels for our Cyanotype paper packs are in and I am very pleased. We stuck with the same layout as our Linocut kit by using original artwork and the printers have done an excellent job transferring an original to our labels. These packs are destined for a variety of shops in the UK but you can still purchase directly through us, just click on the photo. Cyanotype is a fantastic process enjoyed by adults and children, combining science, nature and creativity.

Ah we had these photos come up in our memories and wanted to share them with any new followers. These photos are a throwback to our first shop in Plymouth. This little unit was a lovely space to work in. We have outgrown it now in exchange for space, goods in & out ramps, parking and a super infrastructure but it's nice to look back to where you've been and how far you've come and that is thanks to our customers & friends. We appreciate you all. X

hello hello we have moved our main stores and we are delighted with the new facilities. We now have purpose built goods in & goods out, plenty of parking and we are pretty impressed with the infrastructure of the new place. Along with this, we did close the Plymouth shop at Alma Yard, the future of the yard just wasn’t the right fit for us as a business. With building issues and restraints with planning interfering with daily life; it made sense. We remain in Plymouth (Stoke) for click and collect, we just don’t have the shop to browse. Regardless, expect great delivery, wider selection and stock. Workshops will continue as we have lots more space. We have a few items damaged in transit and so if you are looking for a bargain, we will probably use Insta to tell you about those. First come first serve. xx

This copper plate was inspired by sketches and photos of an original car lift in the old ropery
The building is under renovation and I'm excited to see how this lift features in a modern aesthetic when the building is finished.
I used Baldwin Ink Ground by .ground, Lascaux Aquatint Spray Resist and sharpie as stop-out, between dips in ferric chloride.

I have been promising these for lino cut to our Plymouth shop customers for a while and they are finally in. You can also purchase these online via the link.

These Japanese tools are part of the Yoshiharu family of tools, don't be fooled by the similarity with other tools out there, these are sharp, and glide through lino and shina like butter. We only have a few of these in, but hope to get more.

We have had a couple of Covid cancellations on our Introduction to Linocut tomorrow if anyone is interested. Tickets are 38 and there are two spaces, first come first serve.
Its a relaxed workshop in a large purpose studio at Alma Yard, Plymouth (pics in the link). Bakery on-site and H***y Tonk’s deli a few doors away.

Also if you are curious about Alma Yard and have never been, they have an open evening on the 1st December. At Ikigai we will be hosting a free drop in to try the fun and easy technique of stamping, details on our socials later today.
