John Ward has been part of RaFT from the very beginning.
Tell us a little about your background John?
I’ve been fortunate enough to work in the public, private and voluntary sectors in and around Plymouth since 1985. Since 2006 I have been increasingly involved in change management and change leadership development activities, within the contexts of organisational process and culture change.I started working for the University in July 2018, as part of the HR Performance and Change team. I was delighted to secure a role in UoP as I was impressed with its creative, yet common sense approach to making change stick using the knowledge, skills and abilities of its own people. For the first 12 months I supported the Local Improvement Project (LIP) training and UoP change community until July 2019 when I moved into the RaFT project.
What are you doing for the RaFT project at the moment?
My role is to support the RaFT Project objective to involve staff and students from all areas in creating and delivering on the change that affects them. I’m currently leading on a number of work activities looking at RaFT engagement and communications, academic and professional services change leadership and also our regular fortnightly Message in a Bottle updates.
Meet Roland Monger, Roland has been part of the RaFT since the very beginning.
What are you up to at the moment Roland?
I am currently following up on projects looking at Attendance Monitoring and the Doctoral College whilst progressing with the area of Marks & Assessments. My future CLIPs will include looking at UKVI/CAS issuing, Module Choices and the Appeals Process. I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the University to find savings and efficiencies across these processes to improve the student and staff experience.
Tell us a little more about yourself Roland?
I have been at the University of Plymouth since 2013 and have been based in Student Recruitment & Admissions as part of the management team attached to Admissions and Business Development. One of my main projects was to integrate the Salesforce CRM system with all facets of the recruitment and admissions process which helped to vastly improve the applicant and staff experience. Plymouth is the sixth University I have worked at around the UK but this is my home town university so I am passionate about making this the best version of itself this institution can be.
