National Drainage Academy trainer - Neil Holt, gets a signed copy of the Heavyweight champion boxer - Frank Bruno's book, "60 Years a Fighter".
From the legend himself at the in London's EXCEL, everyone there enjoyed an entertaining Q&A session hosted by Julian Wynne - Chairman of the NADC, followed by a book signing and photo opportunity which many took advantage of on the day.
It was an honour for all to meet Frank who showed a real interest in the Expo. and stayed longer than expected to explore some of the exhibitor stands - having suffered flooding at his own home in the past.
A massive thanks to the NADC for putting on the event in association with -Ex and the long standing trade magazine and helping raise awareness of the importance of mental health and recognising standards through the NADC and the "DrainSafe" quality marque.

We are delivering the NADC Certified Drain Surveyors (CDS) training course on the 29th and 30th August. This is an EU Skills registered, quality assessed certification of competency. The focus is on domestic and light commercial drainage investigation using CCTV camera and visual inspection.

CDS training is provided by qualified and experienced instructors and includes the following modules supplied by the WRc:

Drain ownership and sewerage law
Domestic drain design, drain mis-connections and components
Drain investigation best practice
Domestic drainage classification coding
Condition grading
Selection and specification of the correct drain repair technique.

This course does not require any particular reporting software package. Previous experience is useful but not essential for candidates. A copy of MSCC5 is required and we also recommend the Drainage Repair Book 4th edition. Both available from https://www.webookshop.com/

We have been working with a couple of CCTV hardware manufacturers with a view to enabling reporting using the camera control unit. This work is more or less complete and we will be bringing out more news on August.

We have recently added the Facebook Appointment add-on. This can be used for booking support and demonstrations. Available from this page.

Our plan for August is to bring out the next version of Viewline, v1.87. This will incorporate a link between Drain Draw and Viewline. We are also adding improvements and fixes to Drain Draw, released in August as well.

Just completed another Certified Drain Surveyor's training course. Good bunch of guys from Amber Utilities and we received excellent feedback on the quality of the course.

We're sure this will be of use to our users that are recording and reporting live on site.
