Knowle Primary School
‘Every child matters. Every moment counts.’ Knowle is a happy, caring and ambitious school for all. Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do.
They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. Our school is a place where we learn and where we are among lots of people also learning. We learn how to get along to be considerate and friendly towards other people and our school is where we can meet new people and learn how to do things that please the majority of people around us, and not just ourselves.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone back in school on Tuesday! We hope that you have had a wonderful summer. ☀️
We spoke to the lovely Natalie today who is excitedly getting ready for the West Park Community Event taking place on Thursday this week! Everyone is welcome.
Over & out to a fun-filled year! Be safe and enjoy your summer holidays before becoming Year 6, Mercury and Fitzgerald class 😁
😜☀️
A jam-packed couple of weeks from Year 5!
We loved wearing our green clothes today and had such a fantastic assembly where we got to meet some of the youth team and find out all about their careers and how they got into football.
It was so interesting and as you can see, we also got to have a photo with the cup! 🏆🏆
Armstrong class took the opportunity to read for pleasure outside and enjoyed the sunshine.
Armstrong have maintained incredible focus during our handwriting sessions this week. They applied their practice to produce neatly written narratives. We can’t wait to share our final pieces with you!
Reception have had such a lovely day at Wembury beach.
Thank you to Wembury Marine Centre for our fantastic beach craft session!
How lucky were we with the weather too?! 🌞🐚
Last week Mercury and Fitzgerald headed out to the beach, here are some photos from our day. We loved beach Olympics, even if we did get soaked and covered in sand (sorry parents). Fantastic day with some fantastic weather!
The other week Mercury and Fitzgerald headed over to All Saints for a taster day. Here are some photos from Miss Shaw's group. We had lots of fun with some Poetry, capture the flag in PE, pizza making in food tech and fish printing in art.
Big Stones are really proud of the country we live in, especially after the England football team did so well yesterday. We looked at the St. George's cross and flag. Big Stones also love winning trophies for our PE skills. We wish England well for the final!
Small Stones have been learning all about healthy fruits to eat. We have been exploring how to be creative with the fruits as well as peeling fruits ourselves.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our fantastic summer fayre today! Who said you can’t have fun without the sun?! To our wonderful PTFA who have organised everything so thoroughly - we appreciate it so much. Thank you to the staff team who have stayed to run the stalls and games! Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Attenborough loved recreating the Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo's portraits. They used fruit to represent features on their face, it was lots of fun! 🍏🍐🍊🍌🍉🍇
The children in Big Stones have really enjoyed construction activities recently. They have built many amazing items and structures and even helped make a stick house during their Forest School session. Well done.
This week Small Stones have been enjoying creating their own Gingerbread Man pictures and exploring the sensory tray, sorting the different animals. Well done.
REMINDER - School Fair Friday 5th July. 3.15pm.
This will be a school m***i day in exchange for a bottle of pop.
Please note Gymnastics club is cancelled this night.
The PTFA look forward to seeing you all there!
Paignton Zoo 2024
Key Stage One had a fantastic day at Paignton Zoo. We enjoyed looking at all the animals and learnt lots of facts about lions. The children also had fun in the park and bravely walked across an extremely wobbly bridge! More pictures to come 😄
Both Fitzgerald and Mercury have thoroughly enjoyed a day at Wembury Beach. We've explored the rock pools, finding an array of wildlife including a star fish and crab, ignited our competitive side with beach Olympics and enjoyed being out in nature. There are more pictures to come but here are a few of us rock pooling.
Last week, Year 5 had another fanstasic taster day, this time at All Saints Academy. From pizza making to woodwork the children got stuck into a range of engaging activities. A big thank you to all the staff and students involved at ASA!
Year 1 and 2 are excited for their trip to Paignton Zoo tomorrow. We will be leaving at 9am to get on the coach so please ensure your child arrives at school at 8:30 to register and collect their packed lunch. It’s going to be so much fun!
Year One have shown great focus during their grammar lessons this week. Check out how focused they are! I wonder who will receive next weeks golden pencil?
Year 2 have been amazing this week. They have worked so hard on their SAT tests and we are so impressed. They have one more reading paper to go but we were so impressed we thought they needed an extra shout out!
Have a lovely weekend everyone! 😀😀🤩🤩🥳🥳👏👏
A few more photos from Year 6's trip to Mount Edgecumbe. They had such a wonderful time!
The children in Big Stones have really enjoyed the story of the Gingerbread Man. They spent time designing their own Gingerbread Man remembering the facial features and clothes.
What an interesting experiment in Lovelace class! This week we conducted an experiment to find out how the distance between a paperclip and a magnet affects attraction and repulsion. It was so interesting learning about non-contact forces! 🧲😁
Year 6 had a brilliant time at Mount Edgecumbe. We crossed on the ferry, walked to the house, explored the gardens, had fun at the beach and enjoyed chilling out in the glorious sunshine! The children thoroughly enjoyed their final Knowle Primary School trip! They were all amazing!
