BLOG - Brides and bodyhair

There is an amazing blog by on brides and bodyhair. Our recent photoshoot together showed Meg, the beautiful model, rocking the party regardless of having visible bodyhair.

I bet you just focused on the photos to check where. You wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't mentioned it, right?

Our team for the Fairy photoshoot was absolutely amazing. There was no mention of bodyhair before, during or after the photoshoot even when we excitedly went through all the photos. Why? Because bodyhair is NOT an issue. I never even thought about asking her if she'll have bodyhair or not.

When I say BE YOU for your wedding I mean it. You don't have to shave your bodyhair just to "appear pretty". Honestly, my goodness Meg is stunning and she's obviously having a fantastic time. It was so much fun seeing Meg dance and make a party out of the photoshoot!

Same way, no one is gonna be looking at your underarms or counting leg hairs on your wedding day. They'll see your energy and the love you share with your partner.
That is really what matters.

The past weekend was AMAZING!

Day 9: Happiness is travelling! I actually have a Tourism and Hospitality Management degree and I love to travel. Right now I am in Finland with the 2 little ones for my grandmother's funeral though. Happy yet sad time.

Day 7: Happiness is listening to music! A lot of metal music in my case accompanied by some other genres here and there 🖤 If I don't have Sun//Eater from Lorna Shore playing I've got Swallow the Sun and Breaking Benjamin lined up followed by many other wonderful artists! I must admit I'm currently obsessed with Blasphemous Rumours by Depeche Mode. 🤪

Day 1: As a wedding planner I get to see many lovely wedding venues which makes me very happy. Today was such a perfect sunny day for one of the venue visits at Poppydown Vineyard Wedding Venue Donna the owner was so welcoming of me, my toddler and baby boy. Their barn looks fab and I can't wait to visit again, next time on a wedding day! 😁

Don't you just love the view? Imagine yourself at a wedding sipping on a cocktail on a sunny day. Chatting away and enjoying the nature scenery 😊

Welcome! If you are new here you may not know all my services. I am a wedding planner for alternative couples in the UK, but I also sell Alternative Bride Boxes!

It has been one full year since I first launched my Alt Bride Boxes! 🤩 Within a year I have developed them further (for example by adding the gothic wedding planner notebook) and I have plans to continue developing them.

Do you ever wonder how a wedding planner dresses to coordinate your day?

This is one of my outfits for when coordinating your wedding day! Actually brand new as I found this AMAZING retro clothing shop today 😍 Thanks for lovely hospitality! 😊

The things I consider with my outfits for your weddings are things like:
💥 Wedding theme - I would not dress in bright colours to a dark gothic wedding or in Christmassy clothes to a beach wedding
☃️☀️☔️ Time of year - winter is freezing and summer is hot so you'll find I dress to survive haha!
💬 Your wishes - if you have a colour you don't want me and the guests to wear please let me know!
💃 Comfort - Wedding coordination isn't just managing timings... it is hard work and often involves lifting tables or being a last minute seamstress if a dress tears! So comfort is key to be able to move around easily.
🖤 My own brand - I am obviously there to also repserent myself!
👣 🎶 Disappearing into the crowd - The focus should be on the couple so I do aim to do my job discreetly "behind the scenes" unless you need me to do announcements when I'll jump back to view 👋

When I am not planning weddings or doing admin I am busy with other things like spending time with our 2 boys, gardening, reading books (I love fantasy, scifi and manga), painting Warhammer models (my newest hobby) or doing other stuff.

There is no prejudice here. I have been bullied for my likes and hobbies like metal music and dressing in black so I know how it feels to be treated when you don't follow the "norm".

I want you to be YOU! No need to dress in white just because your in law would be upset to see you in black. No need to decorate with something that you are not comfortable with. It is okay to not have a cake if you don't want to! Instead it IS okay to have lightsabers, viking props, crowns and boots on! Please do tell me about your ideas. Let's make your day AWESOME! 😊

How to get beautiful photos of your wedding? Here's some tips:

1. Well planned is half done.
Plan your wedding well, decide a detailed time schedule and plan for the unexpected! Ofcourse, I can help with this part being a wedding planner!
2. Get a team of suppliers who you feel comfortable with.
You'll feel a lot more relaxed around a team of suppliers you trust and get along well with.
3. Have a "dream team".
Where possible, get suppliers who have worked together before. The day will feel awesome when the suppliers get along well with each other! They'll also be able to match each other's timings in a more efficient way.
4. Relax!
Once you get to the day just relax. I know it is easier said than done. At this point you have done everything you can for the day to go smoothly. You can also book a wedding planner like me to coordinate on the day for that extra piece of mind. It is time to enjoy your time with your partner and to celebrate your marriage.
