We’ve been busy getting boats ready for the Southampton Boat Show.
Here are a few of them…

Here are a couple of this weekends laser cutting jobs for customers.

The first being the boat name in the style of the Avon logo (well they are for an Avon rib).

The second had very personal references with Darth Varder (with red light sabre) and the master Yoda, written in Star Wars Styled Font.

I’m still amazed at the detail achieved with the laser cutter with Hypalon fabric.

Rear end cone came apart whilst out on the water for this customer.

🌊 -Removed 5 patches, some of which were PVC and not Hypalon fabric.

🌊- Reinstated torn fabric on an internal repair.

🌊- Thoroughly clean wider strip on the outside.

Further down the road we will be looking at large teardrops and protective wear patches on both sides at the rear.

Today’s intrigue…
Leaky Pressure Relief Valve, on removing the Valve this is what was found.
Obviously has been leaking a while so someone decided to fill the valve with sikaflex.
Not only does this not seal the valve but it stops the valve from releasing air if to much pressure has built up. Not ideal in the current temperature, when you need this feature to work.
If the valve doesn’t work, then you are at risk of the tube ripping or the baffle blowing and an expensive repair bill at the cost of a valve.

5 sets of fins and a position template.

Port Aft Repair: -
Internal Repair, Soapy Water Test,
External Cover Patch to blend style with boat,
Matched Cover Patch on opposite side.

Been a busy day today, had the laser machine cutting doublers for the valves, inner baffles and serial number plaque.
I also ran a test piece for the differences in engraving the fabric adjusting power and speed.
All whilst I was cutting out more panels.
Who says blokes can’t multi task!

Having received our Laser Cutting Machine this week, these are the first items off the production line.
Delta Logos for a client (with an engraved key chain)

Just some of the most used equipment in tube making and repair.

Whilst dissecting another tube, this one has been repaired using Liquid Latex in at least 2 of the chambers, as you can see it splashes all over the internal and may seal the leak, but then where it can’t be spread evenly it builds up and just sits there.
Think twice before using these products as if you needed to do a proper repair a lot of time would be spent to get back to good fabric for a quality repair.
