Crochet, cooking and crafts I've been crocheting since about 2007, when my Mum taught me to make a granny blanket, just working in spirals.
I somehow then stumbled across amigurumi, in my internet travels, and got completely addicted. Crochet Shaz is a blog where I want to share my crochet (and non crochet) projects, and hopefully pick up some tips and friends on the way! It is a space where I can express all of my creativity, and share my passion for crochet and other art forms. It's my little sanctuary
I just wanted to share the gorgeous jewellery that I made on Saturday in a workshop with in Tolpuddle ๐ฅฐ
Tamasine is an excellent teacher! My friend and I are absolutely thrilled with the jewellery we made and will definitely be back!
Absolutely in love with how this Catherine Wheel blanket is coming out! It's my first time using Whirl (I know, where have I been) and I am OBSESSED!
Pattern is by โค๏ธ๐งก๐๐๐ฉต๐๐ฉท
Happy New Year, crochet gang!
I finished this chonk of a blanket that I mentioned in my stories a few weeks ago. Didn't manage to get as much yarn as I needed, due to it being discontinued, but never mind!
What do you think?
Hey strangers! Long time, no speak. Hopefully this is me back for good now.
Where have I been? Well, I sadly decided to pull out of the Christmas Market in Cerne Abbas this Saturday. I was getting too stressed about stock levels, and was dreading it...which should never be the case. I will still be going along to support the other makers but won't be selling.
Instead of making Christmas stock for other people, I decided to make Eleanor's advent calendar (which I've been putting off every year to stock my shop). It's felt really good to be selfish for a change!
Pattern is from many years ago!
Hey there, Christmas Puddings!
Hope you're all doing well.
I've finally got my mojo back and it feels great ๐๐ป I've been working on these lovely little Santa gnomes (pattern by ) lately ๐
๐ป Aren't they cute!
They will eventually end up in my shop (nearer the time) but I also want to let you all know that I'll be back at the Cerne Abbas Christmas Market again this year, on 2nd December! You'll find me surrounded by some wonderful festivities and lots of yummy food!
It's hot hot hot ๐ฅ
Perfect weather for cacti! Little Maggie is the only cactus left in my shop right now! Who would like to give her a home?
I made this a few weeks ago but was waiting to gift it to my friend!
The lovely .beauty asked for a keyring for her allotment keys, so I stitched this little carrot for her!
The pattern is by ๐ฅ It actually includes instructions to make a little pot as well! It's super cute ๐
Ho ho ho ๐
๐ป
Bit late for me due to the lack of mojo this year, but I've finally started on some Christmas stock!
Obviously this little Santa isn't ready yet but after assembling a few bits last night, I was excited to share him with someone!
What festive pieces are you all working on?

I recently sold the last of my little cherry brooches, and received the most beautiful message from the buyer! I just had to share it!
Thanks so much ๐ฅฐ Enjoy wearing your cardigan!
Some pictures of my finished ๐
I really loved making this, and it's such a nice, simple pattern to get along with. There are so many colour combinations that you could play with as well! But of course, I went for rainbows.
I'll be adding it to my shop soon!
It's finished. Finally.
After having not crocheted at all since April, last night I finally finished my ๐ What took me so long? I wish I could tell you. I just had absolutely no desire to do any crochet...weird isn't it!
Anyway, I think I'm back in business! I'll post some better pictures of my blanket over the weekend when I've had a chance to take some better pictures.
Thanks to for the lovely pattern!
We did some painting today! Eleanor loved my rainbow, so I thought I'd share it ๐
Hi everyone!
Long time, no post. I hope you're all doing OK ๐ฅฐ
Sorry for disappearing. I've really struggled with motivation this year, and at present I haven't picked up my hook since April. I'm beginning to feel the urge again though, so hopefully I can get back to some regular posting soon!
I've just dropped by to say thank you for hanging in there and sticking with me. I've made some lovely friends via this account and I'm so thankful for everyone ๐
Also, today I had my 200th sale ๐ฅณ So I'm really thrilled about that. Thank you to the lovely buyer that bought some toadstools this morning!
Wishing you all a bright and sunny Bank Holiday!
Sorry for the recent silence - as always, I totally failed with ๐ต I did get halfway though, which is an improvement on previous years!
Hoping to be back to regular posting soon. I've just felt a little bogged down lately and haven't crocheted much. I've almost finished my Happy Tears Blanket though so will share once it's done!
I'm a bit late but day 16 of was about HIGHS AND LOWS.
I wasn't sure what to post for this prompt, so I've opted to share this C2C blanket that I made years ago, which has sat in a cupboard since then. I really enjoyed making it and loved the yarn, but once finished it was super wonky (too wonky for blocking to help). I'm not sure why.
I keep meaning to frog the whole thing and make something else, but that in itself would take quite a while to do! Watch this space...
It's day 15 of and I'm a little late to the party! Today's prompt is FROM IDEA TO PRODUCT.
I don't have many patterns that I have written myself. I don't particularly enjoy the process and am too self critical and lacking in confidence. BUT the few that I do have are quite good fun.
A few years ago, pre covid, I decided to make some children's head bands for a summer fayre I was selling at, and came up with my Teddy Bear Headband patten. It's super simple and I've got it for free over on my blog. If you decide to have a go, please tag your posts with so that I can see!

Today's theme is BIG OR SMALL ๐๐
I've opted to share my biggest and smallest projects with you!
This mega elephant taxidermy piece took about 6 months a few years ago. I've obviously made blankets which are technically bigger in size, but I feel this is one of the most impressive things I've ever made!
And if you swipe you'll see a teeny tiny sushi brooch, also made a few years ago for a friend ๐ฃ
It's already day 13 of and today the theme is PLANNING โ๏ธ
Previously I've posted about my enormous to-do list and my queue on .ravelry that I have no hope of finishing within my lifetime ๐คฃ But today I'm going to talk about planning during projects...
Like this blanket that I completed a few years ago (that seems to be my most liked project ever on here!). I knew I wanted there to be a gradient and the yarn that I was using had an ombre colour change, but I had to lay out all of the pieces at the end to try and organise them into the finish that I desired! Swipe to see the result!
It was definitely a good idea to plan it out like this, because the finished blanket looked much better than I would have had I just thrown squares at it randomly.
Planning is a winner!
How do I recharge? ๐
RECHARGE is the theme for today's post!
I have always loved to cook, and I'm trying to pass on the passion to my little girl. Granted, she can't do much more than mix and spoon things into a bowl at the moment, but she really enjoys the process - we made these Easter gingerbread cookies the other day!
When I'm not cooking with Eleanor, I love to try out new recipes (and old favourites) and find it so relaxing. I would say that cooking is probably my way of decompressing at the end of the day ๐
TRIAL AND ERROR is what we are talking about for today.
This is a tricky one, because I don't tend to take photos of stuff going wrong (unless I'm asking for help). So I have decides to share these little "buttons".
I made these YEARS ago and made them into necklaces. I think they look cool, but they never sold and they are just sat in my stock box waiting for me to try again with them.
It's hard when you make something you really like but then others don't feel the same way! But onwards and upwards ๐ค
Day 8's prompt for is FINISHING TOUCHES ๐
I have boxes and boxes of embellishments in my collection! Mostly for my amigurumi projects, but occasionally they get used on other things too!
Everything from buttons and beads, to ribbons and pom poms! So many things to choose from, and not enough projects to put them on ๐คฃ
I really like the finish on this bag (pattern ) because I managed to find the PERFECT pom poms to put around the edge ๐ And adding a sparkly button makes everything better, right?
LEARN is today's prompt for and here is one of my first completed amigurumis!
This little dude was made back in 2007 - I can't tell you the pattern, but it would've been a free one from somewhere.
I remember enjoying the process of making him! Apparently I didn't realise you had to stitch through both loops to avoid lines going round your work, but hey...I got there eventually!
It's fun to look back on stuff like this and see how you've grown ๐
Today's prompt is START THE DAY
I start every day with a cup of tea ๐ซ I get my daughter's breakfast ready and we begin our day!
This little hydrangea bulb is a throwback to 2021, and the pattern is by Crafty Amore!
Day 3 of and the prompt is SNIPPET.
Here is a little snap I took the other day of my current crochet project. The pattern is by the fabulous and I'm really enjoying making it!
Not getting as much time to work on it as I'd like but enjoying it nonetheless ๐
Day 2's prompt for is ALL ABOUT YOU ๐๐ป
Hello! This is me - Siรขn. I don't look like this right now...this is me pre-baby ๐คฃ
I'm 33 years old and live in Poole with my Husband and our two year old daughter.
Some little facts about me:
โญ๏ธ I learnt to crochet when I was 17
โญ๏ธ I absolutely love to cook, and really enjoy trying new recipes
โญ๏ธ I'm super scared of butterflies
โญ๏ธ My favourite movie genre is horror...I love anything scary
โญ๏ธ I really enjoy reading and am not fussy about what I read...I mostly enjoy horror, suspense and crime novels though
โญ๏ธ I am a Team Captain for and love selling on the platform!
I said on Day 1 that I would be rubbish again this year, and here I am again posting a couple of days late. Will try and do better!
I'm going to try and take part in this year! I didn't do very well last year ๐คฃ
Anyway, prompt number 1 is BRAND ORIGIN.
I don't really consider myself to have a "brand" so to speak. But this is an image my wonderful friend drew for my page many, many years ago ๐ I still use it over there now because I love it!
Thank you so much for all of the well wishes and love on my previous post.
Eleanor is back to her usual chaotic self. We cannot be more thankful for the NHS and everything they do ๐๐๐
Sorry I've not been updating recently. My little girl ended up in hospital for a week (she's much better now) and I didn't feel like crocheting or doing much else.
So here is a lovely update for you all!
I've completed a full rainbow and am onto the second cycle of colours now, and it's looking great! I have just taken a load of photos of my progress, so keep your eyes peeled for those in the next few days.
Had some happy mail the other day!
Received these absolutely GORGEOUS rainbow macrame earrings from the mega talented ๐
Valenteen makes teeny tiny macrame creations. I really didn't appreciate how detailed these were until I saw them in person! Mind blown ๐คฏ
Anyway please go and give some love!
Latest project! I've finally started a pattern I've been wanting to make for YEARS...literally years ๐คฃ
Here is the start of my ๐
Of course I have opted for rainbows. It's a no brainer really! And so far I am totally hooked (geddit?)
Massive shout out to the super lovely for designing this pattern!
