Calling all hikers! If you are in Dorset this week, why not explore the natural beauty that the Jurassic Coast has to offer 🥾
Stretching across 155km, from Orcombe Point to Studland Bay, this World Heritage Site covers miles of stunning countryside that needs to be explored to truly be appreciated 🌊
Below we have pulled together a list of the Top 5 must-do walks along the Jurassic Coast:
1. Exmouth to Sidmouth (17km) – You can find the exact starting point of the Jurassic Coast on this hike, at the top of the Orocombe Point Cliff. You will also pass through the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve, so keep an eye out for the hidden wildlife in the water and the trees!
2. Seaton to Lyme Regis (11km) – Start this section by walking along the gorgeous beach. Going from Devon to Dorset, the beaches soon turn to jungle like greenery where you are likely to be one of the few people on this trail.
3. Abbotsbury to Weymouth (17km) – If you like a challenge, try hiking along Chesil Beach – covered in tiny pebbles, this makes the hike a little more challenging! As you arrive at Weymouth, take a stroll along the picturesque harbour and treat yourself to a classic seaside dinner of fish and chips.
4. Lulworth Cove to Kimmeridge (11km) – On this walk, you can find the stunning Mupe Bay – a hidden gem just east of Lulworth Cove. Surrounded by white chalk cliffs, this curved bay is filled with rockpools and is a truly secluded part of the coastline.
5. Kimmeridge to Studland (29km) – This is the longest section of the hike but undoubtably the most beautiful. You can of course break this hike down into smaller, more manageable chunks. Enjoy the stunning views of Old Harry Rocks, Swanage Beach and Durlston Castle.
