This week, I had the pleasure of working with the HMS Prince Of Wales Field Gun Crew.
It was a great experience spending time with the crew and helping them get in peak physical condition for their comp yesterday. ๐
Throughout the week, I offered a deep tissue massage drop in service to the team where anyone could come see me if they were suffering from tightness, pain or ongoing injuries. ๐ฉผ
Iโm very happy that I made a difference and that everyone felt so much better after! ๐๐ผ

Why I workout:
1. It builds my identity as someone who has self respect. I respect myself, therefore I look after my body.
2. Life is too short. F**k being that person whoโs in their 50s whoโs treated their body so badly that they now have a bad life. Iโll still be repping out pull ups in my 60s.
3. It makes me proud of myself. Every time I go to the gym, a jiu jitsu class, or anything else, Iโve accomplished something. And Iโm happiest when iโm the most proud of myself.
4. Iโm getting myself ready to be a good role model for my future kids and grandkids. If I can become a character that theyโll admire, then theyโll be more likely to follow my lead with things.
5. It puts me in a better head space. It doesnโt matter how I feel going into a workout - Iโll always feel better after. A session or class can single-handedly flip my mood and makes me much more positive for the rest of the day.

came to me after an injury that he suffered 7 days before he was due to travel to Sweden to represent the Royal Navy in Judo at the Swedish Open. He sustained a pinched nerve in his spine causing a significant lack of moment to the point where he was in A&E due to pain and breathing difficulties.
During 2x 1hr sessions, I worked to release the trapped nerve, and break up a vast amount of knotted muscle tissue in the area. This not only allowed Jonty to compete in the tournament but also allowed him to attend a training camp directly after ๐๐ผ
โThe sports massage sessions were such a great help; without them thereโs no way that I would have even got on the plane. Let alone traveled and competed so quickly after my injury! Aaron was extremely professional, and I will now regularly book sessions in with him so he can help me keep my body ticking over to help maintain my significant training regimen.โ

We canโt dedicate our entire lives to getting in the most incredible shape possible. Weโve all gotta prioritise putting food on the table and keeping a roof over our heads. We may have family members to take care of. Now throw in personal struggles, household chores, social occassions, other hobbies, spending quality time with your partner, and everything in betweenโฆ
Itโs no wonder that we can let our training and diet slip sometimes.
While itโs not good to make excuses, itโs important to acknowledge these facts so youโre not so harsh on yourself all the time. Never be your own worst enemy!
Be as consistent as you can in relation to your specific life, and acknowledge all your wins along the way! ๐
In the shape of his life ๐ช๐ผ
24 has been a strange client of mine. He had a habit of PTing with me for a while before stopping completely when his motivation levels started to dip. This unfortunately went on for a while.
So when Owen asked to start training with me again last august, I was skeptical. But in his own words, โI gave him a lifelineโ and we started training again.
This time though, things have gone differently. Owen now knows that everyone gets motivation dips and itโs completely normal to experience them. This means that heโs kept his foot on the gas for a solid 9 months now, even when he โhasnโt been feeling it.โ His strength levels and muscle mass have gone up significantly as a result, to the point heโs now in the best shape heโs ever been in in his life!
Iโm been very happy with Owens progress recently, you can clearly see from these photos that his body composition has completely changed. I also respect his new attitude towards health and fitness. If he keeps putting in this level of work, heโll only continue to look better and better. ๐

Being completely honest, when I first met Lewis I wasnโt sure how consistent or committed he was going to be ๐
I knew he loved a drink and a night out, and didnโt know if his priorities would be right.
Shortly after starting though, I was proven very wrong. From the very first week, Lewis was so consistent with everything that I told him to do. He smashed his calorie and protein targets almost everyday, and always went to the gym at least 4 times a week on top of our weekly PT session. He even played 5-a-side football twice a week on top of this! โฝ๏ธ
Because he did so well from the beginning, he actually made a lot of progress in just a short period of time. Fast forward to now, and heโs gained a significant amount of muscle, as well as losing over 1 1/2 stone! โฌ๏ธ
I have so much respect for him and the work that heโs put in over the last year. This is only the beginning for him! I have no doubt that heโs going to continue to progress more and more as time goes on ๐

If youโre looking to build up your arms, here are some effective tips:โฃ

๐. ๐๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ! Higher rep sets can lead to more blood flow to your arms, which will grow your muscles there. Itโs not uncommon for some bodybuilders to do sets of 20 reps. ๐ฉธโฃ

๐. ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ! Do this at the top and/or bottom of your bicep and tricep exercises. This can help minimise any cheating and get you to establish a better mind-muscle connection. Try to do this for one second. ๐ง โฃ

๐จ๐ซ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐ข๐๐๐ฉ๐ฌ, try to include an exercise with your elbows in front of your body (e.g. standing EZ Bar Curls) and an exercise with your elbows behind your body (e.g. incline dumbbell curls). This will lead to more well-rounded biceps. โฃ

๐จ๐ซ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ฉ๐ฌ, include an exercise where you push down (e.g. a tricep push down), and an exercise where you push up (e.g. an overhead tricep extension). This will lead to more well-rounded triceps. โฃ

Right now, my overall health and fitness might be better than ever. My weeks atm consist of 3-4 weights sessions, 2 jiu jitsu classes and some stretching every other day. My diet has also been on point recently. ๐ฅฉ๐โฃ

But I know training, and life in general, is often seasonal. So yeah, training is going well atm. But I know that at some point, Iโll be going through a period where itโs much harder to keep my foot on the gas. Because we know your personal life circumstances can change in an instant, for better or for worse! ๐๐ป๐๐ผโฃ

So if youโre going through a great training period right now.. great! Make use of your drive because your motivation levels will definitely dip at some point! ๐โฃ

But equally, if youโre going through some life difficulties right now, remember that they wonโt last forever! And when things change for you, your drive to go to the gym will definitely go up! ๐โฃ

No matter what, you should always do what you can to stay consistent. But achknowledge the fact that sometimes this can be hard, and that you shouldnโt be too harsh on yourself sometimes! โ

Congrats to who is my January Client of the Month! ๐ฅ
This is actually me and Carls first month of working together, and heโs absolutely smashed it! ๐ช๐ผ
Every week this month, he has meal prepped and planned his food perfectly. Heโs also been consistent with his own gym sessions, despite leading a very busy life! The result is that heโs down half a stone this month! โฌ๏ธ
Iโm so pleased with the effort that heโs put in and the determination that heโs shown. If he keeps going at this rate, weโre going to have a very successful year together ๐

And our teacher made us all weigh ourselves. I remember the embarrassment when I found out that I was underweightโฆ for a girl. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
You know, some people claim itโs hard to lose weight, but those people never view things the other way round. Iโve always had a ridiculously fast metabolism, to the point where I need 3500-4000 calories just to maintain my weight. Because of this, if I want to gain weight I literally need to commit my life and soul to it by eating all the time ๐คฃ
Weโre all dealt a different hand in life, and we canโt control this. We just have to play with the cards that weโre given. Some people have an advantage when it comes to the gym. I definitely donโt. But obviously the harder the journey, the greater the reward. ๐๐ผ
Over the years, Iโve slowly gained more muscle and strength.. and this is one thing that has really helped with my confidence. ๐
If you lack confidence yourself, the gym is hands down one of the best ways to change that. Be brave, join a gym, be committed, and watch your life change ๐๐ผ

Lee has been so consistent with both his training and his diet ever since we started training together 4 months ago! He listens to all my advice and implements every bit of it. Because of this, heโs gained a lot of strength, muscle, and has lost a decent amount of body fat all at the same time!โฃ

Lee is one of the 7 clients who are taking part in my group client photoshoot this September, and Iโm looking forward to the massive confidence boost that this will give him ๐โฃ

Iโm happiest when Iโm most proud of myself and when Iโm causing a positive impact on the people around me, and I feel like Iโm moving in the right direction in a lot of ways atm. ๐
My mental health declined a lot 18 months ago, mainly because I wasnโt where I wanted to be and felt lost about how to move forward in life again. Fast forward one year, and the story is very different. ๐
This isnโt to brag, anyone who knows me knows Iโm not arrogant. But just like you should do in your fitness journey, I think itโs important to take a step back sometimes and acknowledge the steps that youโve taken and the progress that youโve made. No one else caused that, it was you! ๐๐ผ

When I left my old gym 6 months ago, I completely rebuilt my PT client base. Heather is one of just 2 people who Iโve kept training from there, but Iโm so glad weโve carried on! ๐๐ผโฃ

Before, she would never train on her own, always coming up with some bizarre and questionable excuses as to why that was the case ๐ค but recently, thatโs changed. She now trains every single week at her local gym without me, on top of our PT sessions! Her training more has led to far stronger lifts and way better progress in the gym. Sheโs edging closer towards some great milestones in the gym now, and Iโll be every proud of her when she gets there! ๐ช๐ผโฃ

Because Iโve had quite a lot on my plate, Iโve been training in the gym a little less this year (Iโll always say it how it is.) But after seeing this photo, Iโm actually pretty content with where Iโm still at aesthetically. Especially because Iโve just picked up the pace with my training again! โฃ
