As a result of local changes on how children & young people’s support is provided within the ‘Getting Help’ element of the THRIVE model, we will no longer be delivering the Butterfly & Phoenix Project from 1st May 2024. Therefore, this Facebook/Instagram page will no longer be active. For the new service please contact Barnardo’s who will be advertising contact details widely, including online, from 1st May 2024.

🌟 April is Stress Awareness Month 🌟
The perfect opportunity to think about and reassess the amount of stress that you experience on a daily basis. Continuous levels of high stress can lead to mental and physical health issues which will impact your everyday life. By learning to relax, work on your mindset and practise self-compassion you'll feel less stress and overwhelmed.
The theme this year is so what small steps can you commit to doing in April to feel less stressed 😊
Happy Easter to all who are celebrating this weekend, we wish you all a peaceful Bank Holiday weekend. We will be closed for both bank holidays and return to the office on Tuesday April 2nd.
In quarter 3, Preston, Chorley & South Ribble the young people we worked with had a 97% reduced feelings of isolation.

In quarter 3, Fylde & Wyre, the young people we worked with showed a 100% improvement in their psychological and emotional wellbeing.
We always appreciate receiving feedback from the young people we work with, the team were able to support a young person when they needed to talk.
Today is self-harm and self-injury awareness day. The Butterfly & Phoenix Project has specialist training in working with issues around self-harm. is an opportunity for us to break the stereotypes surrounding self harm, and open up the conversation if you feel isolated and alone.
In Q3 both our counselling teams reported that 100% of the children and young people they worked with reduced or ceased self harming behaviour. The team helps young people to identify their triggers, build their resilience and use alternative coping strategies.

We always appreciate receiving feedback from the young people we work with, the team were able to support a young person when they needed to talk.
When Izzy first met her counsellor, she was incredibly nervous and found it difficult to open up. The counsellor suggested that Izzy write down all the things she experienced during the day and supported her to recognise the good and think about what she could do differently to change an outcome.

We’re The Butterfly & Phoenix Project. If life is getting you down, maybe we can help pick you up!
If you notice problems such as anxiety, low mood or your self-harm and distress increases you should seek further help. We provide early intervention support service for young people aged 11-18 who struggle with self harm and their mental health.
Our website (www.butterflyandphoenix.org) offers practical support and advice on topic such as anger, worry, stress, sexuality, bulling, and more. Plus, we offer a counselling service in the North of England which gives you a safe, comfortable space to talk to someone about whatever you want in a confidential environment.
You can talk to your counsellor about anything you want to. All our team are experienced, qualified and will not judge you on how you are feeling. We have supported young people with lots of issues, so you will not be alone and not the first person to ever feel like you do. Anything that is troubling you, you can talk to our counsellors about.
