Of the many hideously funny but on occasion serious conversations we have in the office, today's discussion was about applying the old school rules to business.

So many small UK businesses were typically founded on family pride of service, the customer came first, always. But in modern times from the turn of the millennia, the rise of the internet and explosion of affiliate marketing, I noted that initially some small up and coming businesses seemed to be operating with a hit a run attitude. Using the no eye contact phenomena as an excuse to offer a low grade service to their clients.

Of course these companies soon dwindled and the old rules were firmly reinstated. In the office we all agreed unanimously that these rules must always apply if we are to be successful at what we do. No excuses. One of the guys shared that the reason he became independent was to offer a higher value service to his clients without the previous constraints of someone over him. We agreed that without the shackles we too now felt free to express ourselves through our work.

The conclusion we came to is this: if you believe and take pride in what you do, it is only natural to inject that directly into your work.

Allow your light to shine and know the rest will take care of itself ✨

Of the many hideously funny yet often fascinating conversations we have in the office, today's discussion was about passion.

Passion is an emotion which can be channelled into many areas, including our work, but do we 'all' experience passion in a positive way and is it something we can fully control? is passion also an energy rather than a combination of the 5/6/9 emotions, or however many Ekman and Co say there are?

The conclusion we came to is this: when channelled into our work, stuff happens, it just does. You can't fake this emotion, you certainly can't bully it into existence either. If you are fortunate enough to be one in possession, then you must nurture, navigate and nourish it. You will see that when you continue looking ahead, pedalling with the cadence of unwavering focus ....
