Relive a short recap of our annual summit held at our UK head office location in Preston 🇬🇧. Our summit brought together our leadership teams from across the world to hear about our success, growth, and future plans for the business. Covering our key pillars of capabilities, sustainability, innovation, culture, and environments, our attendees enjoyed a week of networking, learning, and exciting news from across the business.
🌊 Celebrating World Ocean Day 🌍
Today, on World Ocean Day, we at alsico stand with global communities to catalyse action for a healthier ocean and a stable climate. Inspired by the mission to foster collective action, we're dedicated to contributing responsibly and respectfully to our blue planet.
Our vision to build the most respected and responsible workwear company in the world is underscored by initiatives like our ALSIFLEX® technology. This innovative approach is just one way we aim to reduce environmental impact. The filament yarn structure in this technology significantly reduces the amount of fibre shed during washing compared to our conventional polyester/cotton fabrics. This reduction lessens the microfibres entering our water systems, thereby protecting the health of our natural world.

🌍 On World Day for Safety and Health at Work 👷♂, we're highlighting essential insights from Phil Briggs, our Head of Technical Sales. In our latest blog, Phil explores how customised protective wear is vital for today's diverse workplace challenges.
From understanding specific industry hazards to selecting the right fabrics, our approach ensures that every garment offers maximum protection and comfort. Phil discusses the rigorous standards we apply to our designs, especially in the context of industrial washing and the precise fit needed for effective protection.
Join us next week at the Health & Safety Event, stand 4/G130, where we will showcase these innovations in person. Experience first-hand the advanced performance fabrics and tailored designs that make alsico a leader in workplace safety.

Last week, our Raw Materials and R&D Expert, Naiomi, was in Copenhagen for a crucial roundtable discussion hosted by Sapphire Textiles and Beirholm, in collaboration with Better Cotton Initiative, WWF, and Organic Cotton Accelerator.
This gathering forms part of the ‘Consultative Advancing Sustainable Textile Practices’ - a pivotal initiative aimed at fostering collaboration among industry leaders to enhance sustainability across the textile chain.
They tackled practical challenges in sustainable cotton sourcing and production, and discussed EU Eco label constraints. Representing the PPE and workwear sector, alsico was keen to ensure that industry-specific differences are considered in eco-policy development to avoid unintended ‘burden shift’ impacts.
We are always proud to contribute to meaningful advancements in our industry!

Say hello to ALSIFLEX® - our most sustainable stretch technology
At the heart of ALSIFLEX® lies a unique blend of polymer science, advanced fibre engineering, and specialised fabric finishing techniques. This technology brings to life unparalleled comfort through its exceptional permanent stretch and shape recovery capabilities. Imagine workwear that moves with you, without relying on elastane or elastolefin fibres, making your garments not only more comfortable but also easier to recycle.
It's the foundation behind our first two performance fabrics, monviso and makalu, enabling us to create garments that offer unparalleled comfort while being easier on the environment.

Meet makalu – a high visibility fabric for your safety and comfort.
Leveraging the power of ALSIFLEX® technology, makalu redefines what high-visibility workwear can be: more comfortable, safer in low-light conditions, and environmentally conscious. This fabric blends recycled and bio-based fibres to ensure you're not just seen but also comfortable, with freedom to move thanks to a minimum 25% stretch.
Beyond its bright exterior, makalu is designed to lessen its impact on the planet, maintain its shape through the toughest of days, and wick away moisture efficiently. Step into the spotlight with makalu, where visibility meets unparalleled comfort and sustainability.
Introducing monviso – our revolutionary fabric that's setting new standards in workwear.
Comfortable enough for a wide range of environments, monviso is powered by ALSIFLEX technology®, bringing together the best in comfort, performance, and sustainability. Crafted from a blend of recycled and bio-based fibres, it offers unparalleled comfort and a generous stretch of at least 25%, ensuring the wearer moves freely, no matter the task.
But that's not all. Monviso stands out by minimising its environmental impact, retaining its shape beautifully, and keeping the wearer dry with its exceptional moisture-wicking properties.
Behind our fabric and technologies is the academy - our innovation engine. Here, we dream and deliver sustainable technologies, pushing the boundaries of what workwear can be.
Our experts tirelessly explore new frontiers, ensuring each performance fabric not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the modern workforce, offering unmatched protection, comfort, and a commitment to the planet.
