Good morning everyone, we are pleased to announce that we will officially be opening our doors to the public on Wednesday 2nd December 😁
We are really looking forward to being able to make cakes and sweet treats for you all again.

Also, our resident free from baker (who is also Dutch) has made some little Dutch treats for you to try. In the Netherlands they are currently celebrating Sinterklaas, so she has made some traditional mini spiced biscuits called “kruidnoten” (crowd-note-en)

Also been busy making some gluten free and vegan chocolate cupcakes 😊 These ones are also nut free!

Hey guys 👋🏼 Just to give you all a quick update. I now work at Bury Cakes and Pies. If any of you are wanting any dietary required cakes, then please come and see me over there 😊 I work on Thursday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s and we are more than able to cater for any dietary needs.
I have to say, it’s been absolutely great to be baking again!!

Well, it’s been a very long time since I last posted in here, but I wanted to share my latest cake with you guys.
This is a bark effect wedding cake that I did for a friend who got married this weekend. It took me many hours and lots of concentration, but I was really pleased with the end results.
Thankfully the bride and groom were just as happy, which always makes it all so, so worth it 😊

Hello everyone!!

Over the last few weeks I've been evaluating the balance between Mama Owl and my life outside it. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience when I realised the little time I had outside of the business and my other job to do the other important things I need to do.

Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that as of September, Mama Owl's Sweet Treats will be closing the kitchen for the time being. It's not been an easy decision to make as the business was born from my passions of baking, designing and supporting the Free From community. But the creation of Mama Owl was from my desire to work and support my family, whilst being home to raise them. As my kids get older and my responsibilities to the family grow, my priorities require a new direction.

I hope it is not the end and the doors will reopen when circumstances inevitably change again. But for now, I would like to thank all of my customers over the last 18 months for the support and feedback. It has been the biggest joy to interact with you all and I cannot show my appreciation enough. I also want to thank my husband for supporting me through this, whether by cleaning up after me, donning my flowery aprons at quarter to midnight for that final push or feeding me when I forget to stop to lunch. The list really is endless and I couldn't have done it without you. Also my kids for their patience, quality testing assistance and for being my biggest motivators and cheerleaders. Big thanks go to Clare and Sam for their help in running the stalls! And finally a big thanks to the local Huntingdonshire community, not just for the supplies but also for the support and interest in my world.

Just to confirm, all orders placed will be honoured and completed as requested. The page will stay open and will be more of a platform from free from helpful hints and tips.

Once again, thank you all so so much for everything. You have made this adventure amazing experience!

Have been super busy this week working on 2 celebration cakes. It was hard work, but the end results are always worth it

After a review of available hours and overall capacity, we regret to announce we are unable to take any more orders for large celebration cakes. However cupcakes and small celebration cakes will still be available to order subject to availability. All excising cake orders will be honoured. Many thanks for your continued support xx

Currently working on a baby smash cake, not an ounce of sugar in sight! So far so good 😊

It was my daughter's birthday today. She's not a fan of fondant, however loves chocolate and biscuits, so I figured I would combine those likes into her cake. She was chuffed to bits with It, and it's already nearly gone!

I'm the main cake supplier for all your free from goodies and there is another baker who I have on good authority makes the most amazing scones!! (although not free from)

So this week I have been busy working on a Jumanji cake for my middle boys birthday. It took me a while, but finally finished it today 😁

Today I have been testing out the timings on my new oven.
I'm going to be selling the cakes off that I have made (purely so I don't eat them all myself 🤣)
They will be very basic and won't be packaged (you would have to supply your own am afraid) I will be selling all cakes at half price.

So, here at Mama Owl's headquarters (aka my kitchen) we have had a new oven fitted. Tomorrow I'm going to be playing around with it and testing cake baking timings. This means I will have some basic, non decorated cakes available foe purchase if any of you are interested?
