Something a little different!

Once a upon a time Nick had a TR6 he loved his TR6, but then a wedding and house and children and the TR6 had to go!

So for his 50th birthday his lovely wife (my sister!) hired one for the day whilst on holiday in jersey!

She took a picture and I made a cake !

The end! 😂

Well not quite the end! I hope I can do some more painting using Emily Hankins Cakes brushes and model making using Saracino modelling paste again soon! It's one of my favourite things to do!

I loved using design motifs from the very talent stationary.
It’s a detail that adds to creating a cohesive design for the whole event. And nothing better than having a wonderful planner to help you bring together you and your suppliers is a gem!

Taking inspiration form the mossy greens and weathered pots of the garden olive creating texture throughout this cake and the accompanying biscuits.

You have made it through that often difficult and stressful, life changing year. It’s a time to celebrate your parent anniversary!

I would have loved to have done this little ladies 1st birthday cake ( I made her parents wedding cake!) but she lives all the way in Manchester and other projects meant we couldn’t deliver a cake in person but we can post biscuits!

Today was a good day!

(A very long post!)

Running a cake business can be lonely, spending hours and hours on your own, you can end up in side your own head.
Or you get lost down the social media rabbit hole! Both those things can be uncomfortable & unproductive!

But today I went out and met actual cake people regionals.

It was joy to be around so many cake business owners all at different stages of their businesses all with gems of advice, and so much passion for their businesses.

It was an opportunity to step out from the day to day and reflect.

18 months ago a cake business was dream.

But here I am.

With the people that inspired me to start my cake business

The gorgeous ladies from the podcast which gave me the confidence in how to start
and the utterly wonderful Christine from and who inspired the whole cake dream really.

Today she was inspirational in bringing together a community to share and support each other. So much passion and a real understanding of the struggles faced by cake makers.

Not to mention meeting the incredible and very lovely another inspiration!

You can’t beat having someone that knows the journey you’re on and can share the ups and downs with so I feel very lucky that I have the very talented Vikki from !

I have had many doubts recently, with rising costs, family issues and general self doubt.

But today I have conviction in my ‘why’

I love this business and I don’t want to do anything else!!

This was from way back in January!

First time using modelling chocolate for the figure. It's really fun to work with but can get too soft in my hot hands. So to keep it workable I used ice packs to cool my hands down!

I love the finish it gives!
