Volkswagen Golf - new washer pump fitted.

This VW Golf had a replacement washer pump fitted. After checking the fuse and power supply to the pump it was clear that the washer had failed. New .bilstein pump fitted and the washers are back in full working order 👌🏼.

Peugeot 207 -

This vehicle was back in for replacement discs, pads and nearside front shock absorber.

The front brake discs were heavily corroded on the inside surface and the pads were getting low - definitely time for replacement.

The shock absorber was making a rattling sound whilst driving so it was replaced along with a new top strut mount and bearing.

Mini Cooper booked in for a brake fluid change.

Citroen C1 - front discs and pads replaced.

This Citroen C1 was making a grinding noise from the front end when braking. A quick brake check showed that the front pads were very low and the brake pad backing plate was touching the disc. Front discs and pads replaced - no more noisy brakes.

Hyundai i10 - coolant leak.

This Hyundai i10 was losing coolant from the thermostat housing/heater pipe. To gain access to replace these components, the inlet manifold had to be removed. A new thermostat, thermostat housing and heater pipe were fitted using genuine parts.

Vauxhall Corsa - knocking noise from offside front of vehicle.

This Vauxhall Corsa was making a knocking noise from the offside front when going over bumps / driving on uneven road. After inspecting the front suspension components, the cause was found to be the offside front anti roll bar drop link. New drop link fitted, problem solved.

Vauxhall Corsa - oil leak.

This Vauxhall Corsa was leaking engine oil quite badly from the timing cover gasket. It also had a slight rattle on start up coming from the timing chain. As the timing chain had to be removed to replace the timing cover gasket, it made sense to replace the timing chain at the same time.

A service was also carried out and the nearside track rod, track rod end and steering rack gaiter were also replaced.

Peugeot 208 -

This vehicle was originally booked in for replacement antiroll bar mounting bushes and drop links but the locking wheel nut was nowhere to be found. The wheel nuts were drilled out, removed and replaced with normal wheel nuts.

After removing the locking wheel nuts, the drop links and mounting bushes were replaced at a later date.

Peugeot 407 in with the ABS warning light on - there was a stored fault for the offside rear ABS sensor. After a few checks, the offside rear ABS sensor was replaced. The rear seats had to be tilted forward to gain access to the plug connector and the fuel tank had to be dropped slightly to replace the sensor. Fault code cleared, vehicle road tested, problem solved.

Ford Focus back in to fix a coolant leak - diagnosed this last week as a leaking heater hose - new heater hose fitted (genuine part).

VW Polo booked in for a service - oil filter and air filter changed at customers request. The interior blower motor was only working on 4th speed so the faulty fan resistor was also replaced.

VW Golf back in to sort out some advisories from its recent service. The nearside outer CV gaiter and bottom ball joint dust cover had split allowing the grease to escape. New CV gaiter and ball joint were fitted and car is back on the road.

This Honda Jazz was booked in with a grinding noise from the rear brakes. The rear pads had worn down to metal as a result of a seized brake caliper. The piston on the offside rear caliper was stiff to wind back so both calipers were replaced along with the rear discs and pads.

This Vauxhall Corsa was booked in with the engine management light on. There was one stored fault in the engine management system for the EGR valve. After some testing it appeared the EGR valve had failed. A new EGR valve was fitted, the fault codes were cleared and the vehicle was road tested to confirm the fault had been fixed.
