We love these beautiful appliqué cushions made by Karen Finch. She used red bumbleberries fabric for the background and some Christmas fabric she bought last month from us here at The Sewing Studio for the stag silhouettes.

Jeanette Anne has sent us through this lovely photo of the first quilt she's made with her Janome 8200QCP-SE sewing machine she bought from us here at The Sewing Studio!

She's chosen a lovely fresh blue, green and yellow colour-way for the quilt which is a gift for her Grandson. It's beautiful Jeanette!

Cheyenne was kept very busy cutting up this huge pile of Bella Solids earlier this week. A Fat Quarter in every colour!

Sue Wakefield has put together this gorgeous fabric advent calendar in very good time for Christmas!

Sue used a Makower Christmas Scandi panel from 2023, although we don't have this panel in stock, we do have a range of incredible Christmas panels and fabrics. If you haven't started on your Christmas projects yet, it's not too late!

Liz Elms had a brilliant idea with to make an egg collecting apron for her daughter and grandson with fabric from us here at The Sewing Studio!

She's also made an apron for a local farmer so that he can collect the eggs in his wheelchair and they won't get broken. What a brilliant idea! Lewis and Irene's Country Life Reloved Little Hens fabric would be perfect for an egg apron!

We're delighted to say that we raised an amazing £477.43 for Children's Hospice South West at our 20th birthday party in-store on Saturday!

We had such a wonderful day celebrating with our amazing customers and this is the icing on the cake! Money was raised through raffle ticket sales, our tombola and donations for refreshments.

Children's Hospice South West provide hospice care for children and young people living with life-limiting conditions and their whole family. They support with hospice breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care at three wonderful children's hospices in Cornwall. We're very happy to be donating to such an incredible and much-needed cause.

Congratulations to our all our raffle winners. First prize was a Brother SH40 sewing machine, which was won by Jayne from Redruth, who was thrilled to come and pick it up on Monday!

This lovely nautical themed quilt was made by Lynne Toennings as a present for her nephew!

Lynne says: "I made this quilt as part retirement present and part 60th birthday present for my nephew. He's just purchased a camper van and I thought it might come in handy on cold nights or for sitting on the beach." We love it Lynne and I hope he's had lots of use out of it this summer!

Lynne used a range of Makower fabrics including Spectrum Bright Red and Nautical Blue, as well as Makower's Nautical Shells, Pool Party Boats, Nautical Little Boats, Nautical Anchors and Beside The Sea. She also used Lewis and Irene's Small Things Coastal Boats and Lighthouses. She backed the quilt with Moda Grunge Sky.

We had an amazing and super busy day sharing cake and sewing stories with you all. A huge thank you to all our incredible team members who worked so hard to pull the day together, including baking, decorating, fabric cutting, organising all our special offers and so much more!

Thank you Katrina and Jeanette for helping us decorate the cafe in run up to the party and for serving tea, cake and refreshments all day - we know they loved seeing so many friendly faces and chatting about the YouTube channel tutorials with you all!

Thank you to Bray's & K's for the delicious Cornish pasties and Vanity Fayre for the sandwiches; we had an incredible spread!

We were raising money for Children's Hospice South West with a raffle, tombola and with any donations towards refreshments and we're totting up the totals and will be sharing how much we will be donating overall very soon. Stacey is getting in touch with all the raffle winners this week.

These stunning quilts and cushions by Andrea Honeyman-Brown!

Andrea bought 8 piece templates and a Layer Cake from us earlier this year. She made a quilt and backed it with Polar fleece for a friend who is moving to Cornwall and likes to sit out in the cooler evenings. Plus she also had enough fabric left to make herself two cushion covers!

Jeanette has been making up some lovely Pinwheel Pumpkins - here's her work in progress! Make sure you subscribe to our channel to see how to make these lovely little blocks - perfect for an autumnal quilt of table runner.

You'll spot that there is some traffic disruption in Redruth at the moment if you come to visit us at our shop at 10 Chapel Street.

The junction between Chapel Street, West End, Penryn Street has been closed off entirely from today, 7th October 2024 until 11th November 2024.

Never fear! Our car park is still open and we're operating normal opening hours throughout the period of road closures.

Sue has produced this beautiful Hexagon Garden quilt using Pam and Nicky Lintott's pattern and Katrina's tutorial on our YouTube channel. Sue used a William Morris Jelly Roll and the results are wonderful! It's a gift for a friend and the kind of present I'm sure any one of us would be delighted to receive.
