Hi All The Lovely Cafe Folk,
Just to give you all some impotant Cafe information. We will be closed this Friday 19th May in order to prepare for Ricky Festival. Also as from the 24th May we will not be open in the mornings until 10.30 am. This is due to the fact that I am going into hospital to finally have my hip operation. (At long last !!!) Dawny will be working the Cafe for the most part on her own so she will be extra extra busy. Be advised by the hospital that i will not be be back for at least 8 weeks. If during this time you have to wait a little longer for your orders please be patient and understanding. Hope you all have a lovely summer and looking forward to seeing you all again soon as. Hi All Lovely Cafe Folk,
Just to let you know what is happening at the Cafe. Unfortunatley since Wednesday the water pipes to the Cafe have been frozen solid, so we have been unable to open. Looking at theweather we hope to open this coming Wednesday but that can only happen if we have running water. I hope that you are all keeping well, snug and toastie during this Winter chill. Hi All You Lovely Cafe Folk,

Just a quick note to let you all know our opening hours over the festive season.
We are closed today, Christmas Day and Boxing day.
We are open Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th.
Then we are closed from the 31st until the 4th of January then open again on the 5th as normal.
I would like to take this oppotunity to thank all our customers who have continued to support the cafe through this years challenging times. Hopefully there will be a light at the end of the tunnel soon.
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas stay safe, stay well and heres to a better brighter 2022.

Hi All You Lovely Cafe Folk, Just a quick line to advise you all that the cafe will be closed today beacause of family wedding. sorry this is short notice but someone forgot to post this information (cant imagine who!! oops) . We hope that you are all safe and well and coping with this ratther unpredictable weather at the moment. It is great to slowly get back to normal ,as there is no test and trace any more we decided that we would be taking star signs and birth stones instead !! There is going to be a performing theatre group at Batchworth Lock this week from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd. More details can be found on the The Widgeon Theatre Boat website. The cafe will be open during the daytime performances on the Saturday and Sunday but not for the evening ones. Hope to see you all soon take care and stay safe. thanks Claire and Warren # #

Hi Cafe Folk,
We hope that you are all safe and well. This is just a quick message to let you know that unfortunatly the cafe willnot be opening on Wednesday as we first hoped. The repairs after the attempted break in are taking longer than we expected. The new date for re opening will be the Wednesday April 14th. By this time the tables will all be back and you will be able to sit down. Sorry about this delay but it could not be helped.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for your kind words, hugs, kisses and offers of help. Warren and I have discussed the possibility of starting a crowd funding page as some of you suggested but we feel that there are lots of people in a far worse state than we are at this present time. I still have a business and a job which more than many others have. But please come and support the cafe once it is open again. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Hi Cafe Folk,
Further to the latest government guidelines we are planning to open the cafe again on the 31 st of March, but it will be for takeaways only until the next phase of easy the restrictions which will be (hopefully) at the end of April when you can once again sit down and enjoy your food and drink. But before any of this can take place there will have to be some repairs to the cafe. Unfortunately in the early hours of this morning person or persons unknown tried to break into the cafe. As you can see by the attached photos they first tried the door, unable to gain entry that way they then decided it would b e a good idea to pull down the back fence and rip off the back wall of the cafe. Still not able to get in that way they then tried to get in via the roof and totally destroyed the roofing felt.
With the year Warren and I have had being unable to trade for 6 months, losing my Dad in June and other family illness this has been a bit of a blow to say the least. But we are still here and fighting back !!
