The Painting Lady

I've been trying to put off making this announcement here for sometime, but I can't carry on in denial!
Very sadly, due to serious illness last year, and on going health issues, I am having to hang up my paint brushes and rollers and stop operating as The Painting Lady.
I have had the most wonderful seven years honing my skills and have met some lovely people on the way, many becoming good friends.
My heart is very heavy at the moment, but I have to face the reality that my body cannot do what it once thrived on.
I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to those who spurred me on in the early days and had absolute faith in my abilities. And to all my wonderful clients whom I have helped to realise their interior dreams, even if they did need a wee nudge sometimes to be a bit more adventurous!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Now it's time to re evaluate and steer a new course. Time to stoke the fire and wait patiently for the phoenix to re emerge! Jo💜🔥😉

Time to banish the brown in this north facing dining room and stairwell. A light, colour scheme combining Strong White, Ammonite and Purbeck Stone really brightened up the areas, resulting in thrilled clients!

A bold choice for this stunning bathroom, but what a wow factor! Wouldn't you just love a candle lit soak in here! Hague Blue on the walls, Ammonite on the ceiling and woodwork. Gorgeous!

It's amazing what a difference painting old dark stained woodwork can make not only in terms of the light in room, but also in the atmosphere of that room. Green Ground on the walls and James White on woodwork and ceilings. In a low ceiling, beamed room, painting the skirting the same colour as the walls can help make the ceiling seem higher too!

A jolly monochrome wallpaper coupled with a vibrant apple green emulsion. A happy combo!💚

This impressive kitchen in a stunning barn conversion needed some new life breathing into it. The client didn't want the units to detract from the lovely open beamed effect, so suggested that the colour be limited to the base units, and the wall units painted the same as the walls. A stroke of genius! The base units look stunning in F&B Churlish Green and the top units and walls are James White. I love it when clients are brave in their colour choice. This scheme really works...very well done!

A beautiful sunrise flooded into the study I decorated recently. A rich dark raspberry red, coupled with off white woodwork. Who wouldn't want to sit in here in front of a roaring open fire?!❤

Lots of high step ladder jiggling in this lovely old house. Im totally envious of all the super storage in these old Victorian pantry cupboards, given a bright new appearance by being painted inside znd out, in an area that is becoming a new entrance hall. Very simple scheme all in Zoffany Paper White. The blue panelling is in Little Green Hicks Blue

It is always lovely to receive photos of a job once the client has reassembled things! It makes what I do even more rewarding. It looks stunning, enjoy!

All done. The colour scheme has really brightened up these stairwells; F&B Cromarty on the walls, Mizzle for the main entrance hall, Wimbourne White on all the woodwork and ceilings and Mizzle as a subtle contrast on the dado. Handrail and jewels refreshed in mahogany satin varnish/woodstain.
Gorgeous!

If you fancy decorating with grey, but think it might be a bit cold have a look at Leyland's Lavender. A lovely delicate grey colour with real warmth. Cant capture it on the phone photos!

Back in beautiful Nidderdale, enjoying the last of the summer sunshine and fantastic views. I love my job and being here is just the cherry on the cake.
A dining room needing an injection of boldness. As the client is a country girl at heart, what better than stag wallpaper! Coupled with F&B Mouse Back. Fabulous!

This week's job, decorating in two lovely colours F&B Peignoir and Mizzle with Wimborne White on the woodwork. A really soothing combo for a bedroom.

I must get myself a new phone with a better camera, as these photos just dont do this wallpaper justice. The colours were just gorgeous...teales, light blues and greens, copper and ocres. An abstract print but feeling very organic. Put with F&B Pale Powder and Wimbourne White on the wood work.

I'm really useless at remembering to ask, but it would be great (hopefully!) if clients could write reviews when I finish a job for them. I know I like to check the reviews when I'm looking to hire a trades person. Thank you.

Sometimes, hiding some lovely wallpaper away, in a predominately painted house gives an exciting surprise when you open the door. An example if this is in a home I have been decorating, where a pretty green patterned paper was used in the cloakroom. Looks great, especially when viewed from the hall way; nor that you'd necessarily leave the door open!!

Boy! This was one HOT day's decorating! Up the scaffold tower in essentially a glass room...I must have sweated off pounds!
The client chose to paint the walls and ceiling with the same F&B Vert de Terre. A lovely warm green to mirror the green of the garden.
Looking through to the kitchen area and Purbeck Stone walls, not a conventional combo, but it really works. A stunning area. Cant wait to get back and see the kitchen in! 😊

A very bold colour choice from this client, but when coupled up with F&B Peignoir on the walls, the end result worked really well. Cut glass k***s on the doors add some real glamour.
