Another great night at for our pro exhibition, helping to raise some money towards . Many thanks to Joeri Hapers from Belgium who took on club pro Lewis in an entertaining match. Great to see our junior academy training beforehand and to see the courts so busy too.

Rochdale’s juniors have made history again by winning the North West Counties Squash League junior playoff finals for the second time running read the full report below ⬇️

Two in a row for Rochdale’s Juniors – Doughty Squash

What an incredible day of squash at the NWCSL playoff finals.

Our Junior 1st team were crowned NWCSL U19’s junior champions for the second consecutive year. Huge congrats to Adam Curran, George Bailey and Ricardo Pedrosa.

Special mention to our Junior 2nd team who competed for the first time in the 2nd division finals, with Amaan Rana showing his class and Isaac Hope and Yacub Beg making their debuts.

On top of that our men’s 1st team won their 3rd division playoff finals, proving to be the best 3rd division side in the North West. 2 of our academy squad members, George Bailey & Ricardo Pedrosa put in outstanding performances on the day and have consistently performed throughout the season.

A memorable day for our club and amazing for our juniors to be a part of the Manchester Open PSA finals, playing alongside some of the world’s best players!

Following on from the huge success of SQUASHSTARS we’re delighted to announce we will continue to run MINI SQUASH, led by our amazing coach Hannah .lewis

MINI SQUASH is a fun junior programme designed to inspire kids as young as 5 years old to pick up a racket and begin a lifelong love for the game.

MINI SQUASH will start Sunday 9th June at Rochdale Sports Club from 10.30am-11.30am and will run for 6 weeks.

Both of our Junior teams will play in the Junior North West Counties League playoff finals

2 of our juniors Ricardo & George will also play in the men’s 1st team 3rd division playoff finals

This will be followed by the 1st division playoff finals and then the Manchester Open finals featuring some of the best squash players on the planet!

It’s set to be a very exciting day of squash and amazing to see so many players representing Rochdale. Entry is free so please come down to support!!

SQUASH STARS 🌟 has been a smash hit so far at Rochdale Squash Club.. great to see so many kids enjoying squash for the first time, big thanks to coaches Hannah & George

Last weekend we had the pleasure of welcoming Get Together After Serving CIC to the Squash courts as part of their charity day for Springhill Hospice.. over 30 juniors enjoyed a Squash taster session delivered by Eddie.

By all accounts lots of fun was had by all, if juniors want more they are welcome to our Junior Beginner Squash sessions on Sunday afternoon.

England Squash to run six-week programme for children at Rochdale Sports Club A new six-week squash programme for children will be held at Rochdale Sports Club this spring.

Our player of the month for January 2024 is George Bailey 🏆 - he’s had a great season so far, with his recent winning streak of 9 straight wins and managing to reach 4,000 squash levels 🔥. He’s also represented Lancashire at U19 level and performed well in local tournaments. George helps out with our junior coaching on Sundays and is a great asset to the club. Keep it up Ken.

A fantastic night of squash at Rochdale Squash Club, it was amazing to see the squash club so packed out on a Friday night and a huge thanks to all the people who came to watch.

Our juniors took to the court first as our Gold squad training session began. We were able to showcase some of our local talent, who warmed up the crowd as the balcony filled up for the main event.

Then it was time for the big match, Lewis vs Rhys. After a good couple of days training together, it was time for the serious business, with the first rally lasting a gruelling 3 minutes (check out the video). It was an excellent match to watch and the crowd were treated to some high quality squash.

It has to be said what a credit to the sport Rhys Evans is, he put on a brilliant display of attacking squash, enthralling the crowd with his retrievals and skill. He had a lot of time and advice for our juniors and members, both before and after the match. it was a real pleasure to host him at our club.

We look forward to being able to put on more nights like this in the future, which are only made possible by all the members and volunteers working hard to help grow the club behind the scenes. In particular a big thanks to Andy Parton and Eddie Hamilton for the work they do.

Rhys has had a very successful season so far, picking up a number of PSA titles and is heading for big things.

Our player of the month for December is Amaan Rana, who recently won the Inspire Squash Grand Prix Series 🥇. Amaan continues to show a great attitude towards training and during matches. 👊

California Dreamin’ - Doughty Squash The City of Angels will host Squash's first ever time in the Olympic Games and inside one Squash club in Greater Manchester, far from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, things are already starting to look up.

Well done to all our academy juniors who took part in the club championships at the weekend. Congrats to George Bailey winning the Junior Championship and to Amaan Rana who won the junior plate final 🏆 and to Abdullah Iqbal and Andrew Johnson who came runner up in these events. Shoutout to Harith Iqbal who won the senior plate final and to Adam Curran who was awarded the Darren Lee Ogden fair play award 👏 Congratulations to men’s champion Ian Kajubu Rukunja who beat Robbie Wood in a worthy final!

Rochdale Juniors Triumph - Doughty Squash The Boys Under 19 team were crowned North West Counties Champions in their age division last week, the first time the club has won this prestigious title in over 25 years.

A huge congratulations to our boys who won the North West Counties Under 19’s Championship today, the first time the Club has won this title in over 25 years!

Well done to our 2nd team especially Alice & Olivia who put up a great fight in the final against tough opposition
