A good Tuesday session. We started off with a tabata circuit consisting of 4 individual tabata circuits with a 1 min rest between. We then went into some hand fighting and positional drills before working on our ability to disengage from a grapple to break away.
Finally we went into soft kit and tried out our newly minted terminator drill. All in all a good session.
Running the livestream, inputting fight results and also organising and fighting at an event can be stressful.
Sometimes I wish the IT issues were such a simple fix!

More drills, skills, trial and error tonight with quite a few guys getting hands on with polearms in Buhurt training.
Conditioning circuits, wrestling drills and then soft kit sparring. Sharpening the skills and adding more tools to the toolbox!
A smaller but higher intensity session today. A lot of limited time 2v2 rounds to focus on getting quick takedowns and high pressure work.
Let go
Another good Thursday session focusing on positional wrestling and opportunities in transitions.
Wrestling and 2v2 sparring was on the agenda tonight. Starting off with long cycle wrestling rounds for an hour of wrestling before we transitioned into soft kit for 2v2 profight rounds.
Finishing up the final armour cleaning after last weeks Heritage Shield. After taking all this mud and straw off stuff my living room smells like potatoes.
Great highlights and also full footage of Heritage Shield 2024!

Watching over Wolves 2 competing in their group at the Heritage Shield. Each and every one of them put a shift in which is all I could ask for as captain.

Duelling skills session this evening covering Longsword, sword and shield and polearm. Some good rounds to keep the cardio up.
Back to basics with fitness, conditioning and drilling. It was good to also debrief from the weekends fighting and also welcome Martin to his first session at the club.
New upcoming product, Eau De Heritage Shield 2024. Taking preorders for bottling 😂🤣
I’m sure there’s plenty of us in a similar situation after this weekends activities.

And just like that we’re back to Buhurt baby!
After what was a very focused 4 week camp training profight specific work and fitness for SKF we’ve gotten ourselves back into the swing of things with Buhurt training ahead of this weekends annual Heritage Shield.
We’re looking forward to finishing our season with a solid showing of 3 teams at this event which really illustrates our depth and growth as a club.
Well what else to do when the car is in the garage next to the gym but to spend the time waiting sorting out some armour repairs.
Finally finished the econo-helmet build with all the straps, liner and retention bits done. Spent some time sorting out the verveilles and new straps on the klaapvisor for Dave ahead of it being fitted with a liner and aventail and I also reconditioning the leather on a pair of gauntlets as well as detracting one of the long-standing club helmets.
Shark tank and drilling session tonight.
A solid shark tank of wrestling for everyone followed by technical drilling and tactical entries.
James also felt let doing a forward roll for the camera!
Back to Buhurt mode gearing up for Heritage Shield.
After some HIIT conditioning we went into some specific 1v1 and 2v1 drilling to get the mind and skills back on track.
The profight section of training camp comes to a close as we move towards this coming Saturday.
Now we switch into gearing up for the event which will hopefully be a great night of profights.
Tonight’s session started off with long cycle wrestling rounds for the group before moving into profights specific drills for those competing this weekend and soft kit basics for our new attendees.
We then donned the soft kit and finished off the session with some soft kit rounds.
The econo-helmet build continues. Today was finagling drilling the helmet for straps, fitting D-rings and Ursus style strapping system and then locating the liner and getting it sewn in.
Final steps left are to add the visor retention strap and buckle and attach the rear neck plate.
