From 10:30 we will be pitching up our collective minds and indulging in what looks like a wonderful menu (below) in celebration to Rochdale's Multi award winning Flying Horse's new breakfast opening hours.

So join us, don't worry about things like business cards or elevator pitches, blue sky thinking and double-clicking ideas, we aren't an episode of Succession - simply some local self employed people having a chat. Wherever that chat goes, is up to us.

We have decided moving forward we wanted to be explicitly clear about the kind of group we are. We want to be your respite, we want to be your breathing space, your time out.

We are all like minded individuals that simply want to get away from our offices, our studios and our kitchen tables, individuals that want to come and have human interaction outside of the business bubble.

We don't want to aggressively drill into your business, we don't want to try and sell you anything. We want to talk to you, and we want to listen.

We aren't going to start using language like blue sky thinking, circle back and low hanging fruit. Unless we are discussing the weather, directions and actual fruit.

So join us, if you need help, we have help, if you need some time out, we can facilitate it. If you have a unique question about business that you have been meaning to ask but haven't found the audience, you have now.

You might want to share ideas, gain some ideas, talk about the latest happenings or just sit there and eat a Tap Breakfast.

Making tax digital has been delayed for two years for businesses with turnover of £50k or more, three years for businesses with turnover of £30k to £50k, and currently no timetable for partnerships or the smallest businesses.

Christmas is round the corner and next week we will be celebrating with Christmas Jelly, after last month's excellent conversations surrounding digital tax, we turn our thoughts and attentions to a well-deserved Christmas get together.

All welcome, Christmas Jumpers mandatory.

Next week at our Monthly Rochdale Jelly - Small business co-working we have a very special edition of Rochdale's most social of networking events. We will be joined by founding father, accountant and all-round regional treasure Ruth Pringle of Pringle Accountants Limited.

Ruth will be there to share her boundless knowledge in the upcoming changes to HMRC's tax submissions:

What are the changes?
According to HMRC, the long-awaited Making Tax Digital, will be going live in April 2024, but you will need to be ready.

How will it affect me?
For small businesses they will need to start keeping their accounting records digitally (if not already doing so) This includes using software and formats that are compatible with HMRC's online Tax portal.

Anything else?
Submissions will need to be made to HMRC every quarter and a submission at the end of the tax year, with a sixth submission for anything else you would usually include in your end of year self-assessment.

Self employed? Turnover more than 10,000 per annum? Thats turnover, not profit, then you WILL be affected!
