People will often sell you quick fixes and suggest you ways of easily revolutionising your business... But there's no more effective way than simply:
Doing a really good job π
Yes, you're permitted to make mistakes, yes you're bound to have to take risks and perhaps do things that push your boundaries in order to grow your business, but that's no excuse not to do all you can to provide as much quality as you possibly can.

So, we've been thinking... One of the biggest lessons that can be gleamed from social media from the last few years is that having an expensive isn't always a must. βΌοΈπΉ
We, of course, have our expensive camera equipment, but that's because high-quality content is what we do!
But, if you're looking to launch your brand, starting with your phone isn't a bad thing at all!
Get infront of the camera and let your personality shine through!

Now this is no joke! βΌοΈ
This is a big deal... Influencer marketing can be game changing for any business. By carefully selecting the right influencers, you will be able to find your target market easier than ever before. π
After the right payment, your influencers will be able to use their personality to express just how useful your product or service is, and, because their audience trusts them so much already... They'll find themselves trusting you, too!
And with 70% of US-based internet users following influencers already - now is your chance! π°π°

This is simple... Be patient.
Grow a network on and offline of people who understand your product / service the way that you want everyone to, and the snowball effect will start.
As people share stories at dinner to tweet what you want them to say, your network will begin to work for you.

Of course, the cause that would require a "rebound" would be the impact of Covid-19, but what would have people buying-social more?
You can't help but avoid the possibility for how it'll improve technically. From a technological perspective, Social-Commerce is actually a relatively new thing, and will take time before it's as smooth and efficient as it could be, with more and better ways of someone being able to understand and purchase a product while using social media, you can be sure the purchases will scale.
Moreover, with more businesses taking the "social" part of "social media" seriously, people will start to feel more connected to the brands that they like and support, and will likely start purchasing more from them.
What do you think? What do you think will cause such an increase in people buying on social media?

It's very easy to get impatient with social media marketing as a business.
But you may usually find that this is caused by your intention to sell first, ask questions later.
Try changing that up... Try connecting with what people like and see the selling come naturally after that.
So, for your next social media review, consider approaching your users as a community of people, not a market to sell to!

As a business... it's a given you should be utilising social media to promote your business. π’
But promoting your business isn't about "promoting your business" as much as it is demonstrating what you can do for your potential customers. π¬
So, while it's great to use social media to "break the fourth wall" and give the world a little peak behind the curtain of your business to show off your business's culture and team, you need to remember to demonstrate that you're an expert in your field no matter what... So, remember... More than just your business!

This backs up something we posted recently about the nature of social media itself.
Yes, while Social Media may be a technology, and a fantastic one at that, it is really easy to assume that simply "doing" social media makes your business "social" but its not.
Relationships must still be at the core of your business, just see social media as a new way of conducting them!

Today's point is a simple one.
If you're trying to promote a brand and sell more products on social media... Short video content should be front and centre of your plans.
How can we be so sure? Well, over the last few weeks, we have really ramped up our production of content like this for our clients and here's something we saw happen:
We posted one reel for one of our fantastic clients on Instagram last week. That reel was then seen 4000 times in a mere 3 hours. This led to a huge boost in follower count, post engagement and most importantly... their online orders.
Of course, given we're a marketing agency, you could be inclined to attribute this success to us having all the camera equipment in the world and inside-out understanding of the Adobe suite... But, no.
The Β£1000+ pounds of camera equipment we have was completed ignored for the content (no, the irony isn't lost on us)
As all we needed was a phone and an understanding of Tik Tok and Instagram... So, get out there and get creating, because we're sure you won't regret it.

Yes, I admit it... I can't quite remember who said this...
But, I still love it.
Yes, I also admit it's not quite a social-media or marketing related quote, but we're a business before we're anything else, and I'm adamant that all businesses should remember ideas like this.
We can all often get caught in the weeds of perfectionism and over-planning things, but sometimes you need to be reminded that you're running a business, and the health of that business is what's most important.
As far as the quote is concerned, I think I heard it a few years ago in a podcast that one of our founders had on in the lab one morning... Since then, it's stuck.
And with good reason - it's badass.

So, we've had a busy couple week this week, working on many, many things.
One of those things has had us experimenting (duh... we're a lab, remember) with a series of hashtags for one of our fantastic clients. to maximise exposure and effectiveness in that exposure.
The lesson we learnt was how it's not a given which hashtags you should be using - it's always worth thinking laterally about it!
Let's say you make and sell the nicest candles ever. it's worth considering " " may not be your best possible option to get your brand seen, as people who can post to can be anyone from your bigger competitors to someone showing off their new expensive candle!
So, to get around this... it possible that something like " " may be a good option for you?
Reason being, that you may find your content is being seen by people looking for inspiration for their next decorative efforts at home... .
and a photo where your candle is looking particularity at home in a welcoming living room, you may earn a follow from this person, and who knows... Maybe even more! ££
So, bear this in mind... get thinking about what hashtags you should be using and what kind of people you'll be reaching and what frame of mind they may be in when you do!

We LOVE seeing people make the most of social media to sell their business and products...
If you're struggling, don't panic - here's some tips from the lab that can help you sell-socially in order to sell-social!
1) Firstly, be social for crying out loud! Just like how posting and not interacting doesnβt grow your social media, you canβt only upload your catalogue and then expect it to grow revenue itself. Remember the βsocialβ partβ¦ answer questions, ask questions, post stories, share stories, provide interesting/useful content, be human and authentic, etc.
2) Secondly, in the midst of all this socialising, remember to listen. Keep an ear out for comments and activity on your commerce shop, and offer customer service when needed.
3) Thirdly, the smoother you make the purchasing process, the more likely someone will be to follow through with it. So strongly consider what unneeded areas of stutter you can remove to make the process seamless. Such as, making sure the product description covers all the necessary details, appling autofill features in the purchase process, and possibly even setting up a chatbot to answer FAQs.
Usually, when we post quotes, weβre posting them to inspire you and your marketing efforts.
Today, weβre mixing that upβ¦
This quote is actually something that inspired us here at InSight Lab.
This quote was one of the reasons that, without fail, we produce an in-depth marketing plan (for free) for all of our would-be clients after we have conducted an initial discovery.
This plan covers everything from clearly defined goals, to establishing that role weβre actually undertaking and even post mockups and story-boards.
Producing these plans are now second nature for the Insight teamβ¦ So, if youβre curious what these plans of ours look like, get in touch today and we will be more than happy to send you a sample!
