A big thank you to Dave J Ibiza Slater for being my wing man today, in total 5 hours driving for me as Dave was knackered due to the event we was both at the previous night. Ashford to Colchester then Colchester to Crawley then Crawley to Ashford. To say I am shattered is a understatement but what a weekend.

Reason I was in Colchester is because I was doing a competition for Proper Fest and boy was it wicked, all the DJs were superb and had their own unique styles, and you know me being Crucial I heard remixes that I wanted lol, so I chatted to one of the DJs who played a fu***ng banging remix of Genaside II !. Big thank you to Proper Fest for having us and the other news is I will be playing Proper Fest this year, dreams do come true !.

I entered the Proper Fest DJ Competition this year, I have had this one under my hat for a little while and the only people that knew was my partner Victoria Thornton and some of the staff at my residency in Crawley as I was due to play there the same day as the finals. My residency fully understood as I have got a great relationship with them and they know how much it means to me, I live, breathe and sleep DJing !.

I even listened to the mix I submitted again a few times to make sure it sounded ok and the mixing was smooth which it was, to cram in tracks within 15 minutes is a challenge as you have to look for drop points in different places, however I managed to do it and put as much energy and passion into it as I do everything, I had to shorten a mix for something I was playing at ages ago so this was good practice and having knowlegde of the tracks helped.

Today I received the email that I am going through to the finals, which is being held in Colchester on the 31st of March. I am absolutely chuffed as Proper Fest is a big deal for me due to it's pure size. I was overwhelmed and extremely humble that I have been chosen.

I also know some of the other DJ's who have entered and are in the finals, 1 is in the Garage genre and from what I am seeing already he is going to smash the granny out of it. The other 2 are going to be competition but it is going to be fun and I am excited to see what they come up with.

So that's
8 Finalists in each Genre of House, Garage and Drum and Bass
24 Djs to battle it out on Easter Sunday all eager for a place at the Festival in August (and trust me it's massive).

Massive respect to all of you that have behind me and know how much this means to me, and how much passion I have about it. I love to entertain.

Good luck to all the other DJ's, remember smash the granny out of it, turn those nerves into a positive !
