I have just been sent an email from a nice lady who runs a group called Ukelele strood ABC group. The next meeting is Thursday April 12th and it is in the evening at 6.30 to 7.30 pm.
Place: The Methodist Peninsular church 9 Cliffe road STROOD.
Cost: Free but optional donation Β£2.
Lesley asks if you can ring her beforehand just in case its not one of the days we are meeting. Lesley's number is 07594 624 416
The ukelele is a very easy instrument to play, you will be playing tunes after one lesson.
It is a fun group and the whole idea is that people make friends, and have an enjoyable time making music with their friends. I'm being funded by Red Zebra just for this purpose, breaking down isolation and having a good time while learning an enjoyable new skill. Its held in a ground floor room so it is accessible for wheelchairs. We don't meet every week, maybe 3 out 4 thursdays a month but we will be meeting Thursday April 12th.

Sorry it has taken so long to do
On 15 November 2017 I had a meeting with Rosie from involving Medway to talk about, and fill out the funding application for my disability Medway awareness event. First, we looked at the finance part of the event. The hiring of the hall will be Β£20 for St Justus Church. Rosie suggested hiring it for 4 hours. food Β£70. I will need to have a parent organisation that is going to be MVA. MVA will take 10%. To be safe we requested Β£220.
1) Costings- Funding applied for Β£220 - Venue (must be accessible) for 4 hours St Justus Church - The Fairway, Rochester ME1 2LT = Β£20 per hour = Β£80- Parent organisation MVA 10%
2) Other costs- Refreshments Β£70 Marketing/Printing material Β£50
Then we talked about the timescale. Once I receive the funding I will have until the 31st January 2018. So, I will do a Friday mainly because it is my day off and it will be easier to get organisations. So, it will probably be the 5th 12th 19th or 26th. I personally thing the later will be better. because it will give me more time to organise
Since the meeting I have contacted St Justus Church, to ask about hiring the hall. Hellen said any of those days are ok I am going to do in 1pm to 4pm.
If anyone will like to help or can suggest any groups. Please comment below
Thanks
Joe Wastell
