Think you might be suffering from a corn or callus on your foot? Have a read through the information below to find out! 🦶🏼
Symptoms of corns and calluses:
- A thick, rough area of skin 🗻
- A hard and raised bump 👊🏼
- Tenderness or pain under the skin 💥
- Flaky, dry or waxy skin 🌵
What’s the different between a corn and a callus?
Corns tend to be smaller and deeper and are more concentrated areas than calluses but also more painful when pressed. Soft corns tend to form in between toes. Durlacher’s corns develop on the side of your little toes. Neurovascular corns are extremely painful as they involve your nerve endings and are more complicated. Seed corns are tiny and superficial. Calluses (hard skin) usually tend to develop on pressure points (heels and balls of feet and sometimes on the toes). 👠
What causes a corn or callus?
- Wearing tight shoes or socks 👟
- Wearing no socks causing friction 🧦
- Genetics 🧬
Here’s a review from a recent patient of ours, thank you to Ms Sekhon for posting about your experience with us! 🦶🏼✨

Verrucae are lumps on the skin caused by a virus which can be painful if left untreated. Here are some important things to know about verrucae:
1. Verrucae belong to the wart fanily and usually occur on the soles of your feet, around toes and toenails. 🦶🏼
2. These lesions are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus which is very contagious! 🦠
3. The virus spreads very easily through damp surfaces, such as swimming pools and changing rooms at gyms. 🌊
4. It can take months for a verruca to appear after contact with the virus. 📆
5. Treatment methods include acid, freezing (cryotherapy) which require a number of brief appointments or the Falknor’s needling method (usually only requiring a one-off appointment) which are all offered at the Kent Feet clinic! 🥳
