The Summer holidays are well underway.....
Did you know...
Last summer alone, nearly 200,000 children suffered injuries that sent them to their local A&E. These injuries were caused by products we love to enjoy in the summertime, like pools, bikes and playground equipment.
The average A&E waiting time in the Uk is around 4 hours!!
By knowing First Aid you could help treat the casualty at home and reduce their pain whilst waiting in A&E or even not have to go!
This is why we believe more parents should be First Aid Trained especially in the summer.
We have very limited spaces on our Paediatric courses for the remiander of 2024, why not book on ....Email our sales team at [email protected] for more information!!
Are you going to a festival this year?🎪

The injuries that can occur are sunburn, heat stroke, food poisoning and lot more serious injuries.
Make sure you or you child is equipped with a travel first aid kit, suncream and Insect Repellent.

What is DRAB? Why would I need to know it?
DRAB is your primary survey. This survey is what you do when you first find someone unconscious.
What does it stand for?
D- Danger- make sure that you, the casualty and any bystanders are safe.
R- Response- Gently shake the shoulders and ask loudly "Are you alright"
A- Airway- turn the casualty onto their back if necessary and open their airway:
With your hand on the forehand and fingertips under the chin, gently tilt the head back, lifting the chin to open the airway.
B- look, listen and feel for normal breathing for no more than 10 seconds.
If they are not breathing call 999 and send for a defibrillator.

What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a disorder of the brain that causes seizures. These seizures are not caused by a temporary underlying medical condition such as a high fever.
Epilepsy can affect people in very different ways. This is because there are many causes and many different kinds of seizures. Some people may have multiple types of seizures or other medical conditions in addition to epilepsy.
The way a seizure looks depends on the type of seizure a person is experiencing. Some seizures can look like staring spells. Other seizures can cause a person to collapse, shake, and become unaware of what’s going on around them.
Take a moment to watch our short YouTube tutorial demonstrating how to assist someone having a seizure.
