EXCITING NEWS 👨‍🍳

Our ambitious and talented Head Chef, Vladimir, has reached the semi finals of the prestigious National Chef of the Year competition hosted by The Craft Guild of Chefs after impressing the judges with his stunning three course menu!

Following huge interest in this year’s much sought-after title, the judges have heaped praise on the overall standard of entries with a strong focus on food provenance, sustainable sourcing, and the reduction of food waste!

Sustainability and food provenance are certainly important areas of focus for Vlad and his talented team of chefs at our charming countryside wedding venue. We’re incredibly proud of the sustainable, homegrown produce that features across our mouth-watering seasonal wedding menus including vegetables, herbs, fruit, eggs and pork - all grown and reared in our organic smallholding. Vlad and his incredible team work tirelessly to ensure each of our dishes is created using the freshest ingredients with a strong focus on our ‘ Field to Fork’ ethos! Congratulations Vlad – we’re all so proud of you! 💚

The Summer Soltice is officially here - the kickoff party for Summer right?!☀️🥂

Today we can’t help but be grateful for our Summer Solstice & all that it brings as it marks the official start of Summer! June really is such an exciting time at the Farm as we welcome long evenings soaked in sunshine & glorious golden hours, watching our gardens come to life & seeing our charming countryside venue filled with happy couples & their wonderful guests!

Although every month at the Farm is beautiful, these are our favourite highlights in June…

🌼Our Dublin Bay Roses around the venue & at the front of our Farmhouse are in full BLOOM & are truly a sight to behold! They certainly add a touch of romance to your wedding day photos – they look wonderful & smell heavenly too!

🌼 Our wildflower meadows & headlands look spectacular from early Spring however in June our wildflowers reach their stunning peak! We have a beautiful variety of flowers including Primroses,Cowslips,Poppies,Cornflowers,Marigolds & more! If you have time on your special day with your photographer, pop over & give them a little visit - they make for a wonderful & colourful backdrop!

🌼 With thanks to our expert team of gardeners, our landscaped Gardens & Grounds absolutely flourish this time of year! Our manicured lawns, seasonal flower beds in full bloom, & home-grown produce provide the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding! At South Farm we also have our very own sustainable water source which means we can keep our lawns green and lush, & our gardens and home-grown crops hydrated!

🌼 As our seasonal vegetables & fruit flourish, our organic small-holding and Kitchen Garden look fantastic this time of year too! Implementing our ‘From Field to Fork’ ethos & ensuring we stay sustainable as we can, this will ensure you’ll really taste the difference in our seasonal menus that you and your guests will enjoy on the day! At South Farm we are truly proud of our food and delighted to boast diverse menus!

To celebrate 'National Red Rose Day,' we would like to pay tribute to the most iconic symbol of love and romance throughout history - the red rose!! ❤️🌹

Did you know that red roses signify deep love and admiration - making them a timeless symbol of love and romance. Roses are also the birth flower for June, which is also a popular month for weddings, so what better way to celebrate our Dublin Bay Roses which are such a highlight this month around the venue.🌹

From the all-important 'confetti throw' to being a gorgeous backdrop in your group or couple photos, our Dublin Bay Roses are simply a wonder to see on wedding days!🌹❤️

This is a great opportunity for all new couples who are searching for their dream wedding venue to come along to see all that our award-winning wedding venue has to offer. We’d also like to extend a warm welcome to all couples who have already booked their wedding at South Farm.

All our wedding ceremony and reception spaces will be set up and looking beautiful and you’ll be able to wander through our indoor and outdoor spaces and visit our beautiful guest accommodation and our charming small-holding. where we grow much of the food used in our delicious wedding menus. Our Event Team will be on hand to greet you and to answer any wedding planning questions you may have. There is no need to book in advance – just come along on the day! We will be open between 12pm and 4pm and everyone is welcome! 🤍

Celebrate ‘ International Biological Diversity Day ’ with us at South Farm! 🌿

This is a day dedicated to making sure that Earth remains a place where all creatures, no matter what environment they depend on — can not only survive, but also thrive 💚

Over the years, at our ethical wedding venue, we have created diverse wildlife habitats and planted over 1000 indigenous hardwood trees, heritage orchards and kilometres of hedgerow near our eco wedding venue. Our pretty wildflower meadows provide essential food and homes for bees and other wildlife. Our nesting boxes are home to our resident breeding birds including barn owls. We also manage a local reservoir and nature reserve, home to diverse wildlife including crayfish, kingfishers, reed warblers and over half of all the dragon fly species found in the UK.

A South Farm wedding is truly special. Not only do we care deeply about our environment, we are proud to offer many sustainable initiatives to help reduce the impact of our activities and actions we have on the planet but we’re able to offer our couples numerous picturesque spots for photographs in our stunning grounds and gardens. Not to forget the unique charm of our rare-breed animals from adorable piglets to our friendly and woolly sheep who are so well looked after by our wonderful team here 💚

Sustainability is the heart of South Farm! Looking after our little part of the world is big priority for us and to be custodians of this beautiful venue is a true privilege and one that every member of our team takes very seriously. Additionally, our Sunset Terrace is adorned with a romantic flower wall, displaying hundreds of pristine white roses – and they smell heavenly too!
