Core Stability: Muscles have 2 main functions - to create stability and help generate movement. When these two sets of muscles function correctly, they are in harmony, but if one type becomes weak the other has to compensate.

Acupuncture needles are completely safe. They are much finer than those that patients are often used to for drawing blood.

Needles are made of stainless steel, are pre-sterilized, come individually wrapped, and are single-use. Following each treatment, needles are disposed of safely in sharps containers.

What is Chinese Cupping Therapy?

Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy where a cup is placed on the skin, and pressure is reduced (either by heat or suction), drawing and holding skin and superficial muscles inside the cup. This technique helps remove stagnation in the body and opens channels so that Qi, or energy, can flow freely.

What to Expect During a Chinese Cupping Therapy Treatment
Cups are typically left in place for about fifteen minutes, causing the skin under the cups to redden due to blood flow congestion. To remove the cup, the therapist presses the skin on one side, allowing air to equalize the pressure. This suction effect massages the muscles, helping the body realign similarly to a deep tissue massage.

What Does Cupping Feel Like? Does it Hurt?

The therapist uses an apparatus to gently draw air from the glass cup, creating a tight (but not painful) suction that lifts the skin. This sensation passes quickly as the therapist places more cups. After placing each cup, they check to ensure you're comfortable. Your body quickly acclimates to the feeling, and you may not notice each cup. If it's your first time, the therapist may use fewer cups for a less intense treatment.

Sometimes, lotion or oil is applied to the skin for "moving cupping," where cups glide across the skin to treat digestion, inflammation, and congestion. This technique helps expel toxins and waste through the lymphatic system.

What Do the Suction Cups Do?

While on your skin, the cups loosen and lift connective tissues, increasing blood and lymph flow. This targeted blood flow brings oxygen-rich blood and lymph to the area, aiding in clearing cellular waste and toxins, giving your body an extra boost in detoxification.

What About Those Red Marks?

The red circular marks left by the cups are not bruises and rarely hurt. Bruises are caused by impact trauma, but cupping involves no compression or impact trauma. Instead, it lifts and pulls the skin and tissues. The red marks result from blood being pulled into the area; the darker the mark, the more stagnant fluids were dredged up. Marks last from a few hours to several days and become lighter with repeated treatments.
