🌳 We’re pleased to have completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment.

The Assessment is a self-assessment and reporting tool and resulted in us receiving a Level 2, recognising our comprehensive net zero targets and reporting for carbon emissions.

This is key to supporting us to understand how we align to the NHS’s long term sustainability priorities and the pathway to progress.

🏅We are gold!

We've been recognised for the fourth year running for offering outstanding baby friendly care to families.

UNICEF, which runs the Baby Friendly Initiative, has revalidated gold standard to Lancashire Healthy Young People and Families Service (run by HCRG Care Group), the Children and Family Wellbeing Service (Lancashire County Council’s response to Early Help), and Families and Babies (FAB) which provides peer support for infant feeding.

📣 Our statement on the continuing disorder across the UK

HCRG Care Group condemns the violent disorder that has taken place across the UK over the past week. Racism, discrimination and abuse have no place in our society and this activity goes against everything we stand for as an organisation promoting care and inclusivity.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these abhorrent events, from those living in the areas that have been targeted to the police officers on duty tackling such mindless, volatile behaviour.

We are actively supporting our staff, many of whom – alongside others in the NHS - work in the heart of local communities and should be able to get on with the important job of delivering vital healthcare to patients without being put into vulnerable situations that cause them to be fearful or anxious.

We stand against those who choose to spread hate and violence and, instead, will show kindness and compassion as our services continue to support those who need us during this difficult time.

We’re delighted to have signed up to the Consultants’ Charter, in conjunction with the BMA, after proving we meet a set of standards around good employment practice, covering areas such as job planning, safe working patterns, consultants wellbeing schemes and workplace environment and facilities.

We began prescribing dry powder inhalers to eligible patients at HMP Norwich to reduce the negative impact on the environment and make improvements to patients’ treatment outcomes.

In only one year, we decreased the carbon footprint by at least 15600kg of CO2, which is equivalent of 71,000 miles by car per annum.

📣 We're excited to be leading a pioneering project that will support Essex schools in meeting the needs of neurodiverse pupils.

The Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in School (PINS) project will deliver a bespoke package of support into mainstream primary schools to help shape the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) provision, provide early interventions, upskill school staff and support strengthening of partnerships between schools, parents and carers.

📣 Supporting the management of substance misuse in patients

We're really proud to have delivered a transformation project at HMP Norwich that has enabled the continuation of prescribed medication for patients transitioning between prison and the community.

We’re one of the few prisons in the UK who offer Buvidal, an injectable form of long-acting buprenorphine, on prescription to patients who are dependent on illegal substances.

Our Stop Smoking Service in Bath and North East Somerset has gained certification as a V**e Friendly Service and has been added to the register held by the National Centre for Smoking Cessation Training (NCSCT) 🤩⭐

Receiving this certification enables our team to expand their support to smokers to switch to va**ng as a proven effective way of quitting smoking 🚭 that is much safer than to***co use.

🔀 Working towards an integrated autism and ADHD assessment pathway across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire 🧩

We worked in partnership 🤝 with parents, carers, carers’ families and our multi-agency team to provide a proactive, person centred and evidence-based approach to diagnosing and identifying neurodevelopmental conditions.🔍🧠

Last week, colleagues at our Meadows Delivery Site in Harlow, Essex, held a book-themed Stay and Play session for World Book Day. 📖

Some of the play stations featured The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🍎, Goldilocks and the Three Bears 🐻 and A Walk Through The Jungle 🌴 to name but a few.

Over 70 children and their parents/carers joined in the fun and responded with some fantastic feedback:

We’re proud to have received positive feedback on the delivery of our two-year innovative Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home-Visiting (MECSH) programme in Lancashire, which has provided extra support for families to ensure their children 👶 are developing as they should be.

🚲 A ‘wheelie’ great effort by our colleagues in Bath who raised around £500 to fund activities for patients and prevent hospital-acquired deconditioning during their rehabilitation journey.

Thank you to the Bath Sports Centre for loaning a spin bike for the day, which was cycled continuously for eight hours by a number of willing volunteers! 🕐👏
