The Royal Marine Cadets are a part of Sea Cadets. They operate within units as a detachment, and offer young people training through the values and traditions of the Royal Marines.
We're interested to hear from potential future uniformed adults, cadets, non uniformed supporters. Essentially, anybody who might want to be part of a small and effective Royal Marine Cadet Detachment.
If that is you, please let us know via the survey link:

Proud as punch today of all cadets who competed this weekend.
From the cadet who was nervous, and showed the courage to race. To the cadets who wished their opponents well and showed respect, there was a great display of the fundamental Sea Cadet Corps values.
There are over 50 units in the North West Area, you should be proud of your achievements whilst representing both Runcorn Unit and Merseyside West District.
Finally - the staff who have spent weeks and weeks training you, and then give their weekend up to transport and support you, deserve a huge thank you.
BZ Team Ashanti and Team Sea Cadets Merseyside West.
Yours,
PO (SCC) Davies
Officer in Charge

An incredible well done to all our cadets who participated in our Sponsored Row this weekend!
Their commitment, talent and determination really showed as they took on the challenge of rowing the length of Coniston Water (and back again!). Not only did they smash their goal, they did it with time to spare and have a splash about to celebrate.
Huge thanks to Kendal Sea Cadets for hosting us! Same time next year?🚣🚣♀️🚣♂️
Making the most of the sun!
More rowing training last night ahead of our trip to the lakes.
We're so lucky to have access to the brilliant Runcorn Rowing Club !
Beautiful day on the river today!
APPEAL | Do you know the whereabouts of Jorja Pumford?
The 13-year-old is missing from her home in Runcorn and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.
Jorja was last seen on the number 2A bus which travels between Runcorn and Chester.
She was due to get off the bus at Helsby High, but failed to do so, and appears to have continued travelling towards Chester.
As part of our enquiries, we’ve keen to hear from anyone who was on the bus and thinks they may have seen Jorja or knows where she got off.
For more information visit - https://orlo.uk/7eq7M
If you know where she is call us on 101 quoting IML-1825446
Would like to thank Cheshire Police Runcorn Police for their visit last night! The Cadets had a chance to look in their Riot van and police car and get their questions answered about careers within the Police.
It was a pleasure to host the Mayor of Halton and Commander Bagot-Jewitt (RN) as inspecting Officers during our Royal Naval Parade.
BZ to all involved.
Team Ashanti 💪
For a little while now, Junior Cadet First Class Mason has been giving fresh fruit and vegetables away in order to raise donations for the unit.
Him and his family have raised £100 towards our sponsored rowathon!
BZ Mason, good work!
Looking for recommendations!
Our Mk7 Transit Minibus has failed its MOT and needs some welding 😔
We're struggling to find a garage to take the work on
Can anybody recommend somewhere in the local area? Runcorn/Widnes/Warrington/Merseyside
We're already getting a bit lost without it, and despite the recent winds our boats don't move very well on tarmac!
16 of our cadets are taking part in a fundraising event for the unit so we can replace worn and tired kit and ensure that we have all the facilities and equipment we need for the cadets to keep having wonderful adventures on and off the water.
On Saturday the 25th May 2024, our cadets will take part in an 8 hour Sponsored Row at Coniston Water, one of the Lake District's famous Lakes. Not only will our cadets be rowing the length of it, they'll be doing it twice - there and back again!
This upcoming challenge will see the cadets showcasing their boating skills and their TS Ashanti team spirit!
We are a self-funded youth charity and rely largely on the support of parents, families and the community. Your support is so important to us and ensures we get to continue delivering exciting opportunities for our cadets, both on and off the water.
Please can you share this with friends, families, work colleagues and everyone in between so we can reach our goal!

Last night 3 of our POs attended an event at the Halton Royal British Legion to do a raffle to raise money for us. We would like to thank Vinnie for inviting us and all your great tips and the Legion for hosting us! Here's to many more nights like this, our grand total we raised was over £100.
Huge thanks to Red Watch at Runcorn Fire Station for hosting us this evening and giving the cadets a tour of the station, a go on the hose and an inspiring insight into firefighting! 🧑🚒
BZ to all who attended! It was a good night and great to officially affiliate our on going relationship with Halton Royal British Legion .
Another successful grant win from our committee!
With thanks to Community Foundation for Merseyside 12 of our cadets will complete a NICAS climbing qualification.
The activity will be done over a course of weekly sessions and we're sure they will love it!
For us to succeed in building courage and our other values, we must provide opportunity for our young people to dangerous things, safely.
Of course it wouldn't have been possible without our fantastic Unit Management Team.
Don't worry, PO Davies will be staying well away from the knots!
WasSUP Runcorn!!
Thanks to a grant from RFCA for the North West of England & the Isle of Man, we have been lucky enough to acquire 7 brand new iSUPs as well as a Fusion Duo Kayak.
The SUPs now take our fleet to 9, meaning a coach can take the full ratio of cadets out. Even our experienced kayakers can continue to learn new skills.
Our Fusion Duo will be used to promote team work, as well as introduce more nervous cadets to paddlesport with an experienced paddler behind them.
Huge thanks to Go Kayaking - Retail Stores for once again looking after us and providing a top service.
Can't wait to get out on the water now!
We have big news!
Last year our OiC, PO Davies - along with help from RUNCORN ROYAL NAVY VETERANS MUSEUM ( SHIPMATES AND SHIPWRECKS) took our 1800's field gun to be checked out by expert wheelwright, Phill from Wheelwright's Shop.
You can see our gun, and learn a little bit about Sea Cadets now on BBC iPlayer!
We'll have the gun on display again this year, as we continue to maintain and restore it.
Good turnout tonight at the unit.
These cadets are taking part in a webinar series that Sea Cadets HQ have put on 🙂
