This is the building now known as the Old Cafe, now used by our painting group because of the good light, by Whitefriars Church because of its good accessibility and by by groups wanting to run a fundraising event.
This very early photo, showing Church street in Rushden, The Darnell furniture showroom, which later became Cutmores cycling 🚴♀️ shop and is now Sally Army cafe / junction Alfred street, But quite distressingly, The fine building opposite once belonged to Clipson family, The first ever shop to have the first telephone ☎️ i Rushden No 1 , This iconic building has changed so many times and lays vacant and has been badly neglected and the part of the house boarded up. As to why it’s left to fall into a state of disrepair. A preservation order should be made to this fine Victorian gem 💎

So many people looking for work, it's hard to advise, especially when people don't specify the type of work they are looking for. So if you need some help, whether that's preparing your CV or learning how to use Indeed, or gaining Health and Safety qualifications, then on Tuesday mornings, in the Salvation Army Community room on Church Street, there is a government backed scheme called Employment Plus, that meets between 10am and 1pm. (There's always tea and biscuits as well.)
Please note the Irthlingborough Charity Shop will be closed for the rest of this week.
