When the call came in, I thought it was a joke… but no, they wanted the full glam treatment! Between raiding the snack table, trying on ALL our dresses (who knew raccoons could be so demanding about wardrobe) and refusing to sit still, they then LEFT without paying?!!!

If you spot these starlets around town, let Amazon World Zoo Park know—they’re probably on the hunt for their next photoshoot location! ✨

In all seriousness, though, one is still missing. If you’re on the Isle of Wight, please keep an eye out and check sheds or hidden areas where she might be taking shelter. Hopefully she's still on Amazon World's grounds and is brought back safely!

Photography isn't just point and snap, there is a lot more to it to create an art piece thay resonates with the viewer and tells a story. Thrilled with this!

On this occasion we wanted to highlight your photograph for the beauty of the moment captured and for the perfection and difficulty of its composition.

There are images like this one, which do not need to be commented on because their visual strength speaks for them, however we would like to include a few words to applaud the immense technical work that accompanies it:

It is evident that the focal point of the image is the gaze between the two protagonists.

By placing their heads near the upper left third you have increased their visual interest even more, attracting the viewer's attention in an irresistible way.

The distribution of elements is complex but the result is simply sublime.

If we divide the image in half, on the left-hand side we have a multitude of geometric shapes and lines, although the most prominent are the diagonals formed by the staircase, which reinforce the diagonal created by the gaze between the boy and his dog.
This pattern of repetition adds dynamism and symmetry.

Furthermore, in this half we see that the dominant colours are warm, basically beiges and browns.

In the other half of the photograph we find completely different elements.
The shapes created by the plants are completely random and without order.

The dominant colour is green. In this part, chaos and fresh colours stand out, while in the other part, order and warmth rule.

However, both come together to create a backdrop where time stands still to show the magical moment of affection between the boy and his pet.

The beautiful lighting, the complicated framing, the precise DOF, the contrasting colours... all serve to frame this precise and ephemeral moment.

We know very well how difficult it is to control all the factors mentioned above and also to be attentive to expressions and gestures, and for this reason we thought that your photograph deserved to be the winner of this edition.

What happens during a newborn photo session? We are often asked this question, so I guess it's a bit of a mystery behind the scenes!

Our newborn photoshoots are designed first and foremost for comfort and safety. I'm trained in the safe art of posing your baby, to make sure we get that gorgeous gallery of fine art photos!

Every newborn session is as unique as the little bub we have in that day. So plenty of time for feeding and soothing (plus plenty of cuppas for the parents of course!).

Your gallery is personal for you and is a mix of posed and lifestyle-esque photography.

Someday, they will be grown (though it's hard to imagine right now), so we capture all the tiny details and pose your baby comfortably and safely at all times in a series of fine art high-resolution portraits to treasure forever.

One question I'm asked often is, "Why did you name your photography business "Lemon Sky"?

Well the short answer is, Lemon Sky Photography is not just a pretty name. It came to us one stormy night back in February 2014.

After the birth of my first child and an uneventful pregnancy, everything changed in 2013 when (after a difficult loss), I became pregnant with our son.

To say this high-risk pregnancy was a challenge is an understatement! As you can imagine (and possibly even have experienced something similar yourself), we were living on the edge. It felt like a rollercoaster.

Finally, Noah, our rainbow baby, was born at 3 a.m. on a stormy February night amidst torrential flooding (and no, he isn't named after "that" Noah lol). And... He was healthy! Oh, the relief was immeasurable.

As I breathed a sign of relief, coming to terms with the previous months of unknown washed over me like tidal waves. In that moment feeling those troubles melt away, knowing our gorgeous babe was healthy, was more than I could have dreamed of.

Sitting in that quiet hospital bed in a still room (which only moments before had been a flurry of doctors), my husband James and I glanced out of the window.

Dawn was breaking, and we witnessed something magical...

The sky painted itself in hues of pale yellow between those grey rain clouds, creating a breath-taking scene across the horizon of lemon tones.

In that beautiful lemon-hued dawn, as we cradled Noah, our 'Lemon Sky Moment' was born. Because after every storm, there is a burst of hopeful clarity, (and it isn't always a rainbow).

So Lemon Sky Photography was born. For us, the name represents not just our journey but that of countless others too. It reminds us to to appreciate the tiny, invaluable moments, and to prioritise those we love and living for the present moment.

Can't wait to see you in the studio, so we can celebrate your 'Lemon Sky Moments' too! The imperfections, the surprising, and the simple, heartfelt moments that make your family life truly beautiful.
