Goldfish pond drained, fully cleaned, fountain jet washed, lilies re potted, 40 goldfish and rudd all re homed and new child (and heron) proof fence fitted. All in one day 😮💨

Another week, another box weld made to measure liner. It feels like it's all I've done this year. Now over to the carpenter to hide the filtration pipes.

Most ponds seem to have an extra shallow end on them after that rain last night.

A nice complicated re line underway. The original liner had been fitted incorrectly and had become very tight around the corners causing a hole. This was the situation in every corner so there was no choice but to re line the whole pond with a brand new made to measure liner rather than try to fix it all.
The bespoke slabs would be too complicated to remove and re set so it's best to batten the liner into the blockwork just below.

This is a first. The tree trunk has grown, consumed the pond pump cable and slowly squished the waterfall hose until it split. Didn't take long to find the leak! 💦
Decking to come on the nearside and lots more plants 🌿

Breaking ground today on a large swim pond in Welwyn 🤠 Been looking forward to starting this for months and can't wait to see the finished pond. I'll feel much better once all the boulders are delivered though, it's a very tricky site to get to 😖
Helping me install the filtration 🐶
Almost 10 years ago I cleaned out the first pond (now an empty hole in the ground) for £300. I've learned a lot since then and loved putting it all into practice to build the new pond next to it. Now in a much better location to be enjoyed from the house with some new decking to come at the bottom of the steps.
A really enjoyable job giving the koi a great new home 😁👍
Re-line finished in Lemsford village this week. Decking to be fitted on the nearside next week. ✅🐟

How cool is this 🤠 opened each unit to find lots of baby newts ready to go. The babies would have been sucked through by the pump and then the filter, full of bugs and worms, has provided the perfect environment for them to grow 🐸

Brick edge almost finished on this re-line. Unfortunately can't quite finish or point in the gaps because there seems to be no cement left within 40 miles... 🤬

Treating this koi pond for fungus. Normally working hard to keep ponds from going green this always seems strange!
Onto the next job re-lining these two ornamental ponds. Step one, draining and then removing the old plumbing.
