Another question I get asked a lot is how did I gain so many followers on instagram. Did I buy followers? Did I sign up to a site that says "gain more followers" and pay a fee? The truth is last year in 2020 I signed up for 4 weeks of advertising..did it make a difference...not really. How I gained my followers was posting everyday at least 2 - 3 times a day. I also studied other accounts with high followings and studied what they were doing. I started adding hashtags that were relevant to the content that I was posting. I made sure I was taking better photographs. I have also made sure to respond to comments and DM. Lately I have seen a huge drop in my ability to get my posts seen. For the last week, I have been reading and seeing what has changed, wondering what am I missing? What has changed? I was thinking it had to be insta's fault and not mine. Upon reflection...I haven't been focusing as much on the social media part. I mentioned this last week in another one of my posts. Part of going back to 8 hour work days also includes taking better photographs of my art and making sure I'm back to posting 2-3 times a day and commenting on posts and comments. For the last 6 months I have dropped down to one a day and rarely ever get 3 posts in anymore. Life is funny, on how we (I) can be quick to place blame elsewhere. Just like Alice's ruby red shoes, I too have the power and If I want more insta reach then I need to step up my game to where it used to be.

Sad to see this one go but so happy it will be going to a loving home to be enjoyed and treasured. The Last Days of Pompeii was one of my first pieces and I have now completed and sold six editions all with completely different exquisite antique books. I will be creating another one soon! Cannot wait! Like some old seventies band… Although I am always experimenting with new ideas, I will never stop revisiting my ‘greatest hits’ .
